SAFETY TIPS
· Always travel in pairs with trusted companions, especially at night or in remote areas.
· At night, walk in well-lighted pedestrian routes.
· Use shuttle service, Froggy 5-0 and other escort services when available
· Lock all doors and windows
· Increase lighting in and around the perimeter of your residence
· Keep bushes and other landscaping trimmed and designed to prevent areas of concealment
· Join neighborhood watch programs and encourage neighbors to do the same
· Install and utilize an alarm system
· Always verify and ask for appropriate identification from persons claiming to be authorized employees of businesses providing a service, particularly if you did not initiate a request for the service
· When reporting suspicious activity, be a good witness. Describe exactly what you observe with as many details as possible. Give complete descriptions such as sex, race, height, weight, hair color, clothing, etc.
The best way to increase the safety and security of the campus community is to report suspicious activity
before a crime can be committed.
