There are 5-6 offensive lineman (if you include an end), when you rush 3 on a pass play, the o-line will just double team each one and, unless you have an NFL caliber DL (we don't) they will never get through. The QB will have enough time to where the DBs cant maintain their coverage. We don't get to the QB fast enough with 3 in order to reep the benefits that type of scheme is supposed to produce.

Our defense has only "come alive" since we started bringing 4 and blitzes more often.

Defense held them out of the end zone. Special teams was bad tonight. Kick coverages, bad snap, two missed FGs.

I thought overall defense was better especially in the second half.
Houston is going to be in last place in the Big12. They lost to **** Rice. Are you watching the CSU CU Game. CSU is awful and their defense is playing 1000 times better then TCU.

It’s ok to admit the 3-3-5 is terrible scheme. When your baseline defense is atrocious you see screwed. Everytime he rushes 3 in 3rd and long we get crushed. 4-2-5 is so much better. We are going to be unhappy with the defense forever until the DC is gone. Play teams without 15 drops and it’s gonna be ugly.

We are improved but there is a hard cap with that scheme.

3-3-5 is the perfect scheme, you just have to play more aggressive with the blitz packages. It gives you ultimate flexibility. We were more aggressive last night...especially after the 1st qtr.

One mistake most fans make is to basically think, "Others teams are exactly the same in every game they play, but my team has good performances and bad performances."

I agree that Houston is terrible. I don't think Colorado is great. But I also think if you talked to Colorado players, coaches, and fans, they would all say, "We played much better against TCU than we did against Colorado State."
