TCU Athletics wants you to know you don't mean [ Finebaum ] to them

Mrs. Brewingfrog, myself, and two other vintage Frogs traveled to Ireland just about a year ago. It was absolutely lovely, the food was excellent, the Guinness was tasty, and the Whiskey divine. Best thing we did was leave Dublin and see the countryside. We would love to return.

That being said, I am not keen on this switcheroo thing. Sure, the Admin is giddy about pulling in $ for it, but it is a slap in the face of Frog fans who don't have the money to travel, or who are interested in a potential Big Game early on in the season. Instead, it gets yanked away, and the fans get nothing.

The tOSU switcheroo was a flaming disaster. Sure, the Admin got $5 million for it, but the Frogs and TCU lost out on a potential National Level Game which the Frogs would have won at ACS. The season fell apart following that game, and the Frogs never really recovered. CDC made a boneheaded decision solely for the money, and lost the greater prize in the process.
I think the LSU loss set that season's performance to the darker side of the standings, as well....

I would not mind the athletic department agreeing to move the game to Ireland if was truly a neutral site game and TCU got a home game from UNC a few years later. Otherwise, TCU should be known as Texas Chump University since TCU can be bribed to give up home field advantage. TCU also deserves the name since treats season ticket holders like chumps by devaluing the season tickets and expecting supporters act like this is no big deal.

They promise the TCU game in the future then back out of it. We have seen that too.

I am pulling out this supposed moving of our home game with UNC to Ireland. I want the TCU Athletics mucks who monitor this board to see it.

What a bunch of malarkey BS this is (if true). Once again, the season ticket holders don't mean a flying scheiss to TCU officials and your money and support can kiss their ass.

I am tired of our marquee home games being sent to Jerry's World or now overseas. Why didn't they send this year's game to Ireland? Seems like this one would be the key game to send. Perhaps UNC has bigger stones than we do and told them (ESPN) not no but hell no.

We seem to always be all too eager to move our biggest home games out of our stadium and season ticket package. Oh but dont worry, those with the higher priority points will get first shot at those $200 tickets.

So season ticket holders, all of you loyalists for decades, scheiss off and enjoy your home games with Tarleton, UCF and Cincinnati and pay your higher season ticket fees and shut up.

At least they allow you to pay more for your season tickets, so it's not a total loss.

In a world where our bowl game destinations rarely seem attractive and playoff games are going to be financially prohibitive, I'll gladly take the opportunity to travel to Dublin and watch my Frogs play.

Think of it as an advance bowl game, but better! You'll have plenty of advance notice to plan activities and travel. The locals will all be very excited to entertain you. The best part: win or lose you'll get postgame drinks in one of the world's greatest drinking institutions, an authentic Irish Pub.

TCU may make a few million on a game in Ireland, but at what cost, fewer season ticket sales? They have already experienced at decline this year because of the price hike. Are they ready to be hit even further when they take away one of the few marquis games? People are getting tired of having to pay through the nose to watch S.E. Louisiana, LIU, and Duquense. They are leaving a sour taste in everyone's mouth by taking advantage of those who year after year help pay the bills through their season tickets and donations.

Home games should be played at home. If they are going to take away our prime home games then I might just stay home after this season.
Agreed. I just saw these threads after getting back from the holiday.
TCU powers that be should realize they are upsetting fans ... again.

We need a home game (real home game) against a traditional P4 non conf opponent. It looks good and it happens on a field that supports our team.

If this ireland crap is true, it sure seems like just a bad way to screw up the Frogs' chances at a big time season.

It's more risky than just that. in an overseas game, our guys are taken out of their schedule and element. bigger challenge to getting a win. Then, they are tired and taken out of their schedule when they get back. bigger challenge to getting a sucessful season.

Play home games at home.

Thi$ i$ a theme that ha$ been evident for a very long time. E$pecially with the $tadium renovation when a great many long-term we$t-$ider$ ($ea$on ticket holder$ for decade$, e$pecially through the tough time$) were more or le$$ evicted from their $eat$ in favor of club $eating and money money money. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Yes this is a theme evident for a very long time. TCU absolutely cares about one thing - your dollars. And when you all [ hundin] and moan but still keep giving them your $$, they get the message loud and clear.

This isn't just in sports BTW, it's the entire organization; same thing holds for students, tuition, gay dorms, massive administrative staff, DEI etc.

But by all means, keep giving them your heard-earned dough. Be sure to put them in your estate plan, cause It (the TCU corporation) loves you just as much as you love It.
