I Guess No News On Cumbie's Interview This AM

I'm still firmly in the "he hasn't decided" camp. He's the kind of guy that will make it and then get going.

IMO, passing time has been TCU's friend. At some point, I think the momentum shifts back the other way though. That may be tomorrow afternoon.

I have some inside information. I have spent the evening studying some video evidence and I am sure of...1. Hitler did not escape to Austin, and there ain't no damn treasure on Oak Island.

Just my opinion, Fort Worth probably has a more positive environment for a man that values his religion greatly. He is finding it hard to find everything he wants for his family within a short drive the OC office at UT. Some UT alum will have to by some hippy's eclectic shop and bull doze it for the Cumbie family homestead.

The latest post by an alleged "insider" on Shaggy FWIW:

"ok, yall, don't have a lot of time, but a quick update.
from what i understand, nothing is falling apart - rather, it's a holding pattern. obviously, no announcement tonight or big announcement at the basketball game in front of tens of fans, though you might want to keep an eye on that UNC game over the weekend. as i stated before, there are certain sticking points, and the cost of living isn't the only one. there are other, more delicate matters into which i'd rather not delve because they are personal, but there are other mitigating factors in play besides money, power and position. i'll leave it at this: when you move cities, you're moving more than house.

since $#@!bie is a man of family and faith, and i'm told that could mean that, once again, when moving cities, you're moving more than house, there are more considerations than simply money. they have put down some firm roots in forth worth, and concessions have been made by patterson for these very reasons. i understand that strong is willing to provide similar leeway, but his family is very important to him, and there is some word that the pressure involved in coaching at texas might be cause for concern in his camp.

interestingly, word is that some folks in fort worth are not as worried about things as we are. as a matter of fact, my understanding is that there is some significant concern about meachum - keeping him happy in the middle of this maelstrom, since he is, after all, the one calling the plays. a not insignificant worry is that they could lose meachum and retain $#@!bie and be worse for wear. i was told something similar earlier today, but it seems to be forgotten in the $#@!bie discussion - what does patterson have to do to keep both co-oc's happy? it's a tricky situation, and one patterson seems to be taking seriously.

i understand that it's business as usual for $#@!bie until the chips fall. he's still making his decision, and very much involving his family in it. and since he is a man of his word, he's keeping up the recruiting responsibilities because that's the sort of upright fellow he is. he's still selling patterson and tcu hard, even if he might be a bit more agnostic about his personal involvement.

so there are a lot of ins and outs going on here, not the least of which would be $#@!bie's potential staff he might want to bring to austin. i'm told that jinks taking the bowling green job could have put a bit of a kink in the works. even though $#@!bie might still be a bit on the fence here, he still has feelers out - he wants his potential move to texas to be as smooth as possible, with the personnel he wants. the news of jinks to BG may have given $#@!bie a bit more time with which to mull over his decision. which might be the best thing for everyone in the long run.

as for texas, strong seems committed to $#@!bie for now, and willing to allow him the time to make his decision, since they share a lot of the same core values. I understand that the window is closing however, and it might not be too terribly overlong before they move down the list to #2 or #3. im led to believe there are some interesting names on this list, but my source does not want to upset the $#@!bie applecart at this time.

as this recruiting season can make or break the roster for strong in the long run, he is very keen to get things moving forward. "
Love "insider info". It's like info that everyone already knows and have read ad nauseam on various forums.

He offered zero new details.

New "insider" post:

"9pm update: three of my sources are all saying there is a slight setback in $#@!bie coming to austin. as far as the nuts and bolts of football coaching and him coming to austin, it's pretty much a done deal at this point. however, what the folks in austin and fort worth failed to take into account is where mrs. $#@!bie gives birth.
mrs. $#@!bie was all set to give birth at a medical facility in the forth worth area (my sources won't say where), and the $#@!bies, being private people, had not openly discussed this with either the group in austin or fort worth. she was very open to staying in fort worth and then coming to austin after the birth of the child, but $#@!bie understandably was going to be by his wife's side when she gave birth. the folks in austin offered the use of private jets and a helicopter in forth worth to assist $#@!bie in his commute between the facility and austin, which has firmly impressed the $#@!bies.

the setback this evening is that he made it very clear that he was going to work near where his wife gives birth, in case he needs to leave quickly, and that even the use of a private helicopter and jets to get him from austin to fort worth would not be enough.

the folks in austin got together, and are working with three different groups in austin - st. david's, seton medical center, and the wildcard in all of this, the austin area birthing center. st. david's and seton are the natural choice - both are close to campus, seton has the benefit of basically being between campus and west lake, and some university donors have told the $#@!bies that they will have drivers on call 24/7 to get mrs. $#@!bie to the hospital, and to quickly whisk $#@!bie to his wife's side. police escorts can also be provided with 15 minutes notice to ensure a smooth transit to the hospital of her choice.

mrs. $#@!bie is also interested in alternate birthing methods, but the birthing center is located farther away from campus. university donors are willing to make helicopters available, however a suitable landing location is not available near the birthing center, and the $#@!bies have given the university 24 hours to put together a plan to buy a suitable piece of property near the birthing center, on which can be constructed a suitable landing site for two helicopters (one each for both mrs. $#@!bie and her husband). the $#@!bies are taking into consideration a landing site for a helicopter when they chose their house, and the university-supplied realtors have already provided a list of appropriate houses. some of the owners of those houses have already been told that they may have to vacate their their houses with 72 hours notice as well, but they are bound by an NDA and cannot reveal exactly which houses are under consideration.

with all of that said, i think there isn't much to fear at this point, as i consider this to be a done deal - the big donors can definitely resolve the helicopter landing site situation, should mrs. $#@!bie decide on an alternate method of delivery for the future $#@!bie."

Why do so many lack the ability to spell the word "Fort" correctly?

And now discussions of "alternate birthing methods"?  Good lord.

Kinda weird. I'm sure the Cumbie's are pumped about how quickly their private info gets leaked to the public.

I didn't want to reveal the landing pad deal but now it's out there. Can't say where my info comes from but a certain alum that is the Governor of my favorite state in the union, has pledged the capitol building grounds if needed.

Oh good grief, make it stop already. Thankfully this will all be over sometime tomorrow. This should be a private matter for the Cumbie's, and now it's being broadcast for all to read.

You're not buying this BS are you? Someone made that up. No way that's a sticking point. And even if not, no way they explained that to UT in that excruciating detail. And even if they had there's no way anyone passes that along as a "leak," if for no other reason than they couldn't remember it.

This thing has gone full crazy [ deposit from a bull that looks like Art Briles ]. And some thought plane tracking was over the top (it is).
