Conspiracy theory based entirely on speculation and hope: UNC wants to hire Lashlee, who has agreed to take the job when the Pony Express crashes out of the playoff and reaches its final terminus, Paycheck Central. But Lashlee doesn't want it leaked that he's leaving while he's trying to coach a playoff run, so UNC agreed to leak that they're maybe hiring Belichick, knowing that this would send reporters into a frenzy and keep them off the real scent for a few weeks.

UNC has some bucks to spend. Lashlee would be a good fit. My guess is he does not stay in Dallas if they wash in the first round.

I also think the coach at Army would be a good fit for UNC, IF, he has the recruiting chops for it. While there is some tough recruiting to get kids to West Point, its still a mix of students who want to be there for other reasons. Even with the change is service rules for players.

Wonder how he would be at recruiting. (different world than pro). granted the post of him getting hired is true. (I aint asking for sources again)

We also host SMU and go to ASU on that schedule. Two playoff teams.

I really don't think he'll have any Issues recruiting either. UNC is a situation where he'll be the godfather. HIs son had a stellar track record with Washington. He was at NE and gave the Cowgirls their only real challenge in the playoffs in the 90s. The guy is in his 70s. If you want to be ageists you discriminatory a holes have at it.

Well, as soon as Brady was gone, he looked awful and he looked horrible before Brady as well. He’s got horrible judgment dating a 24-year-old when he’s 72 and has he ever recruited? Maybe a miracle happens, but I bet UNC flounders hard

He did make the NFL playoffs with Mac Jones with that body worse than mine.
