Wow! Would’ve said that was an impossibility not that long ago.
UNLV making some noise.
$3.5 mil/yr for 5 years, commitment to revenue sharing and NIL.
It is twice what Odom was making as the highest paid MWC head coach (and about half of what Odom got from Purdue).
Odom is leaving UNLV in a pretty nice position so Mullen should do well.
Mullen is still due $1mil/yr from Florida through 2027.

If this era of NIL is left completely wide open there will be a few school with special situations that become powerhouses from nowhere. About every 75 years there have been some upheaval in the power programs based on seismic shifts in the rules that regulate college sports. We are in one of those shifts.
don't think the shift is over as far as NIL itself is concerned. In part, for reasons that you relate to above.

Vick, huh? Doubt it works out. Though I admit I don’t have a dog in this fight.

OUCH!!!
That doesn't surprise me considering he's from Virginia. I hope things work out for him. He was one of my favorite players. Hate that he scheissed his career off by getting in trouble.

Guess he wasn't that excited about the "new" Pac-12

Cougars are down 11 starters and/or primary backups to the portal and have now lost their HC, OC and DC. Nine days till the Holiday Bowl. It’s all a joke.

I’ve always believed the portal will change only when the Tennessee‘s and Georgia’s of the world are hurt by the few programs that could potentially have limitless NIL money and resources with a properly motivated base, like Texas and to a lesser extent A&M and a few others.
