He was their at least 8th choice...from Temple. Wasn't on ANYONES radar for anyother P5 job. Played for Sandusky. Looks like a used car salesman. No Texas ties. 2 of his hires have been fired for what Baylor is already in trouble for. Probably bounces after the first .500 season if he can.

Shocking you would call it shockingly good. I think it's shocking bad.

8th choice? And wasn't on ANYONE'S radar? He turned down the Oregon job to coach at Baylor:

Basically my point is he has really gotten a lot of interest in Baylor from some top recruits including the top recruit in Texas who cut TCU from his list. I think he was a very good hire by Baylor, you can argue otherwise but saying he was a shockingly bad hire is absurd.

It's miles closer to shockingly bad then shockingly good. Just cuz he got some recruits "interested" in Baylol doesn't make him great.

And I'm not sure if you were joking but MR never turned down Oregon. Reaching doesn't do the word justice enough when describing what Baylol did when they hired MR.

Nobody said he was great but you are in denial if you don't think he is doing a very good job in recruiting, especially considering the hurdles he is having to overcome.

I will take CBS, USAToday, ESPN, The Oregonian and many other sources who directly say he turned down Oregon over what you think:

I've got it on pretty good authority that this isn't accurate at all. Doesn't really matter, but what does matter is that Baylor under Rhule (as it currentlly stands) is LIGHT YEARS away from Baylor under Briles.

I have got more sources that say it is correct, national sources including some from Oregon.

Just my hunch, it never seemed to me that Larry Brown has the love for TCU that a lot of our former players have. Not sure how hard Kam was recruited but I never thought we had much of a chance.
FWIW, my TCU buddy ran into him the other day at some event and he said he talked to Larry for quite some time, and Larry couldn't quit talking about TCU. They all posed for a photo together giving the TCU hand sign.

Neither CBS, ESPN, The Oregonian, nor USA Today said that he was offered the Oregon job and then chose Baylor over it in the stories you linked. They say there was rumors, and one of them says that a high placed source told them that Oregon offered, but I'm guessing that high placed source was at Baylor.

I'd bet good money that Oregon and Baylor didn't both offer and he chose Baylor because all things being equal he liked that job better. More likely, Oregon was kicking the tires and then he took the bird in the hand, which was the Baylor offer, instead of waiting around for an official offer from the Ducks.
