Question #8

Team A has the ball second and 8 at the B-26. A11 runs for a TD as time expires in the 4th quarter. After the TD, the score is A30, B40. Team A goes for 2 and is successful, making the final score A32, B40.
Tru or False

False. The game is over; by rule the try is not attempted because it can not affect the outcome of the game.

Question #9.

During the first possession series in overtime, Team A has 3rd and 10 at the B-25. A88 catches a legal forward pass at the B-16, and fumbles the ball forward and B44 recovers at the B-12. During B44’s advance, he fumbles and A88 recovers the ball beyond the line to gain at the B-12 and is down.
Ruling: B’s ball, 1/10 at the B-25.

TRUE OR FALSE
False.

B44 possessed the ball and turned it over. Thus, it is simply a turnover and treated as such. 1st and 10 A at the B12.

This is also why you fall on the ball! Don't try to advance it, fall on it!

TRUE OR FALSE

FALSE During and extra period, Team A may not have a first down if it regains possession after a change of team possession. Due to the fact that both teams are playing on the same end of the field, since team A, who has the ball and going in, that end of the field is always designated as B. Unless, Team A loses so much yardage it is on the other side of the 50. This is for F-in-Law's benefit. :)

Sorry I have been so late in getting this answered, but I have been busy refinancing those that are taking cash out of their property to pay off credit card debt, and getting buyers approved for their new home!

Question #10

Safety B33 intercepts a pass at the B-10 and returns it for a TD. As he is coming down the sideline covering the play, the LJ drops his flag after he runs into the Team B head coach who is just on the field of play near the B-40. The ball is dead at the spot of the foul, Team B is penalized to the B-25 and has the ball first and 10 from there.

TRUE OR FALSE
I want to say true, but does the position of the ball at the time of the foul have anything to do with this? For example, if the TD was scored before the contact with the coach the TD would stand so if the ball were at the A20 when the LJ hit the coach I'm wondering if the penalty would be assessed from the A20. I'm just not sure how anybody can know where the ball was when contact was made without a video review and there's no way a rule would be written to require video review to assess the penalty since video angles can't always be trusted.

TRUE OR FALSE

FALSE This is a live ball foul penalized as a dead ball foul. TD counts. Yardage assessed on the Try or Kickoff.

Question #11

1/10 on B-5. A80 controls a pass in the air in B's end zone, gets both feet down and is then hit by a defender causing him to go to the ground where he loses possession of the ball. The pass is ruled incomplete due to the receiver going to the ground and losing possession of the ball. Correctly ruled.

Thankfully ex post facto laws are unconstitutional. Unfortunately the U.S. Constitution doesn't apply to the NCAA yet. There may be a very legitimate concern that one of the greatest plays in NY6 bowl history will be nullified by this rule change. As such I'm not a fan.
But there's no statute of limitations on murder
