Would a win tonight actually calm/assuage any concerns?

I’d like to see how many of those coaches that did had some consistent success versus ours who had the best season he’s ever had. Dykes’ overall record indicates only average/mediocrity for its history. Should have waited to give that extension regardless of the NCG season. And I’d say that for any coach in the first year at a school.
TCU looks terribly minor league-ish in their handling of the Dykes contract extension and raise.
Dykes was awarded his extension/raise before we ever played Michigan, so after the K State loss.

As sort of a bad omen, the Dykes award coincided with Pearl Harbor Day.

I don’t know what the going rate is for coaches that made the NCG is, but it’s probably a pretty high number.

I get it, you think the coach sucks. And I know there’s a group, maybe a sizable group, of butthurt donors that got their feelings hurt when Dykes made GP look bad so they are going to refuse to support the program until the ring is kissed, but thats a different issue.
You really are an idiot

There is a group of big donors that have zero respect for our AD and won’t be supporting TCU as long as he is in charge-

It’s because of how he handled GP, in his inability to keep Schloss twice, in the fact that Dixon is only here because UCLA is broke, in his repeated poor and public decisions in his personal life, in the fact that he has allowed our athletic department to be run like a boys club,…

And what’s the going rate for a coach that got his ass kicked in that NC game and followed it with the worst record ever for any coach whose team made that game?

That's fair. He's paid too much. Who isn't? I think the contract is brought up by people who don't like Donati and want to [ hundin] about him. We aren't going to fire the guy less than two years removed from the NCG unless the thing comes completely off the rails, and if it totally comes off the rails we'll be able to move on from him, regardless of the contract.

And I think he's had more success than he's given credit for. He took over a 4-8 program at La Tech and went 5-7, 8-5, and 9-3 in his three years there. HIs Cal stint was blah, but for the millionth time, who wins at Cal? Their current coach, who has been there 8 years, has gone 40-47. At SMU Dykes was the most successful coach they had had since the death penalty, and it really wasn't all that close. All in all, it's really not a bad resume at all, that's why he's been able to coach for 15 years at the D1 level, without taking a big step down in jobs like some guys have to.

This still looks like at best a mediocre football team. Hate Savion Williams taking snaps and running out of the backfield. I get he’s not catching the ball like he has in the past, but it looks like something a JH team does. Turnovers are still a massive problem. Need to get some along with defensive stops, but we can’t keep giving the ball away. Newhouse (who needs to be a permanent broadcaster somewhere) said it best when he pointed out that if TCU protects the ball they are in and possibly winning every game.

So Deebo Samuel’s a 7th grader?
Savion may go to SF in the second round.
On the bright side your football knowledge appears to be JH’ish.
Good job

Just for the record, the legendary CGP rode Reagor like a mule from darn near every position to a bowl-game because we had only Muhlstein left at QB.

This team is an enigma wrapped in a riddle but on a two-game win streak.
Enigma or not, I think expectations for this team were probably a little out of whack if a really good season was expected. We have some really good players, but not a lot, our QB is average at best and our lines on both side of the ball are weak.

At Big 12 Media days we were picked to finish 10th in the league. We might still end up there but right now we are T5th. It hasn't all been absolutely terrible, relatively speaking.

There is no doubt that we would have won a few we lost without the turnover problem. Who knows - we might be undefeated.
