sports writers have been saying this [ Finebaum ] for the past 10 years.
click bait for chumps.
You have no idea what you’re talking about. The CFP began the discussion and its only been in existence for 18 mos.
They may or may not leave, but both Pete Thamel and Ross Dellenger are reporting the BIG/SEC threatened to leave if they don’t get 4 playoff spots each.

If the SEC/Big 10 wants to kick us/everyone out and leave this version of college football, then I wish they would do it sooner and not later. They have stacked the new playoff format to the gills with their teams and are still complaining.

Penn State might get a bye and - at the minimum - host a playoff game. Their best wins are USC, Michigan and Minnesota. What a joke! And they will scream and piss and moan when Bama and Ole Miss don't get in - even after they lost to bad OU and bad Florida, who were a punching bag for the rest of the league because they were so awful.

I hope they find a way out of the ACC TV deal before 2036 and end this charade. If they do that, then we can all move with our lives and college football can have an even playing field again. And there is a very small chance we get in, too. If we don't, then we can still play SMU, Tech, BU and the rest of the Big 12 going forward.
Me too!
If the BIG/SEC wants to do their own thing; then just go.
I have zero interest in playoffs with a 12th seed B12 team playing Ohio St. in the 1st round. It could be worse than Georgia v TCU.

I’m already sick of this. It’s like we got out from under Texas’ thumb, only to be crushed by another one. I‘d like to see the “have not“ teams call the SEC/BIG hand. We actually have nothing to lose.
I could see a new 40 team league made up of the ACC + B12 + Pac2 + Boise + Tulane + UNLV + SDSU + Memphis. A new league formed with four 10 team divisions and a final 4, 8, or even 12 team league playoff. You can do a lot combinations with 40 teams.
It would be very profitable and sustainable with milions and millions of fans coast to coast. Maybe as many fans the BIG/SEC.
….and long as we don’t ever play the Big/SEC, 10 years from now they might be NFC/AFC-like. Nobody will know the difference.

You can say whatever you want to try and rationalize this, the fact is we lost.

The fact is if the season began today, all these conferences have multiple teams that would arguably be favored to WIN the B12.

BIG- Oregon, OSU, Penn St, Indiana,
SEC- Texas, Alabama, Miss., Ga., Tenn, A&M, S Carolina.
ACC- (ND), Miami, SMU, Clemson.

Every Power conference has at least 3 teams that would be favored to win the B12
That means the B12 is at a disadvantage with money (NIL), branding, bowls, recruiting, and talent against these conferences. If this continues to be a trend, it becomes more or less permanent.
The Big XII actually won some of the games I mentioned.

Sounds great on paper, but it would treated like a minor league by the media, and once that happens, there goes all the money.

Being in a conference with Texas and Oklahoma was the best thing that ever happened to TCU football. I was in no hurry at all to “get out from under their thumb”.

Try Google bro. Again, that super conference [ Finebaum ] has been floating around as clickbait for years. Son, you don’t know piss in a bucket.

While your are at it, stick to reporters who have good sources. Earlier you threw up Kurtz. That guy never got past being a cub reporter for radio in Manhattan. Kansas. His career went nowhere with respectable outlets so he ended up doing PR for a business. Then started the YouTube bit.
Like others, he gets interviews every now and then because some outlet can’t get a coach or AD to talk to them.

My model currently rates the Big XII closer to the Big 10 than to the ACC.

Purdue and Northwestern really drag the Big 10 down. The model also does not like NC State, FSU, Wake, and Stanford.

Looking into NC State...here are their 5 wins W Carolina, La Tech, NIU, Cal, Stanford.

Well... we will see if the above holds true within a couple weeks. The pattern in all of the rankings in the last 8 or so weeks is that if a team is in the Big/SEC and the are in the top 12 and lose, they are only dropped 3-4 spots(particularly earlier). The very few exceptions are in the last 2 weeks. Alabama/Indiana and others dropped 5-6. If BYU or other Big 12/non p5 teams are ranked, they are dropped 8-9 spots. A forced Darwinism by Storrs Connecticut.

I firmly believe that ESPN/Storrs sabotaged the Pac-12 by pushing 80% plus of their games to 8,9,10 pm EST starts to reduce viewership and push to the now preferred conference alignment. Now west coast and Big 12 teams are being pushed to evening on Saturdays as well as ESPN +. I can't remember two back-to-back TCU games being on ESPN+.

We also know the degree to "the fix is in" ( I said it) if Ohio State and Oregon- Texas/Georgia are "conveniently" scheduled to play in the 2nd 3rd round. I'm ashamed to admit how much cfb i've watched this year and last year. I have watched South Carolina play 3 games this year and believe they belong in the top 12. I've watched Notre Dame and Penn State play 2 games each (not inc. NIU) Both Riley Leonard ND and Drew Allar don't hold anything over on Josh Hoover.

What about their O-lines and D-lines?

Do you mean OL/DL differences amongst Penn State, South Carolina, Notre Dame? If that's what you're asking, then SC has a better OL than Notre Dame. SC seems to get more push and is more skilled in pulling guards. This is the youngest OL Notre Dame has had for years. I think its two Sophs and one frosh. They are taking some time to gel.
The DL differences between ND & SC are not much. ND has that Cross kid who is probably one of the better pass rushing DTs in the country. SC seems to be a little bit better with their hand fighting.

No reply to Shallow Hal. If you want to pepper about OL/DL clarify or respond like a male.
