Anyone watching "Invasion" on AppleTV?
I’m thinking of test driving it once I’ve finished Foundation.
I’ve been watching both.

I initially watched most of the first season of Invasion when it came out, then stalled out around the 8th episode. Can’t remember why. I think it was just kind of slow. When the second season came out I decided to try again. I started over from the beginning and I feel I appreciated the show more this time. It is still slow to me but it is interesting to see things unfold from different perspectives.

Foundation is excellent. Great characters and great acting.

I didn't think I'd like the kids in England story arc but that had gotten better. Wonder how they will navigate France with only rudimentary knowledge of the language.
But they sure made the 31 or so miles of the trek through the Chunnel pretty easily.

I’m enjoying Foundation for what it is. What it isn’t is Asimov’s Foundation lol

if you haven't watched "casablanca" you're missing the greatest movie ever made, according to most critics. it takes place in free north africa during ww2. humphrey bogart is the star along with indgrid bergman and a cast for the ages, perfectly casted, i might say. this is one your great grandparents loved and that remains special today. i have watched it twenty times or more.

great grandparents? we have posters on this board who saw it the week it originally came out

rumor has it that deep's date was so smitten with humphrey bogart's ivory dinner jacket that it fueled his eventual dislike of black jackets

well, i'm sorry to offend the now great grandparents. "cascablanca" is a wonderful film nonetheless.

for those who like boxing, "rocky marciano" is a good sports flick. saw it the other night. 1999 mgm version. worth an evening's watch.

Do you have any other underrated hidden gems to recommend that the board may not have heard of?

It's not Free North Africa that's part of Vichy France.
If it was Free North Africa you wouldn't; need Letters of Transit to get out.

a couple series that are great watches, hbo's "the gilded age" which is about new money in nyc at the turn of the century, the vanderbilts, rockefellers, carnegies, etc. https://www.hbo.com/the-gilded-age

and as someone who is a lover of ken follett's masterpiece trilogies, catholic, and son of a stonemason, if you can't read at least do yourself a favor and watch "pillars of the earth":
