Yes, the diversity of people/culture in Houston factors into the restaurant scene—supposedly you can find food from all over the world here. A few years ago The LA Times wrote an article claiming Houston is the most diverse city in the country, even more than New York, but New Yorkers might argue that. The oil and gas industry and Medical Center contribute to that.

Rice University did a diversity study and found Houston to be the most diverse city in the country. It was based on closeness to 25/25/25/25% of the four major races… Anglo/Hispanic/African/Asian

I’d really have to think twice about having any interest in a job where the outgoing coach was made to fire assistants mid season a year after playing in the conference title game and still got fired.

How many genders in Houston? I'd think a lot, but maybe not as many as NOLA.

Keep in mind folks: “Offering a contract” and all that formality is one of the last steps in this process… ahead of that, lots of work with agents/representatives on the finer points of a deal, and budgets, expectations, timing, more interviews, etc…

Along that path there are lots of ways things go sideways, including that a prospective coach just decides to say no… Time tends to be an enemy, so folks are working hard to move the ball forward everywhere we can.

Whether it’s Napier, Dykes, or somebody else at the end of the day, I can tell you I’m confident we will be impressed with the changes we see in the program and how it’s run, or in other words: the expedited evolution GP fought against… whether that all turns into wins is the ultimate unanswerable question.
