I think we should do what Penn State did a few years ago, go to the FCS/D2 ranks and find a coordinator or head coach who has offense figured out. Someone who has playcalling experience. Penn State found that guy with Joe Moorhead who was head coach at Fordham.

Agree but Cumbie not being fired. Guys, it starts with the offensive line and we don't have one. When you have to pass on 4th. and 1, you know you are in big trouble.
This can’t be stated enough. Easy for people who don’t know ship to point fingers at the OC, and some of it may be warranted, but at some point a player has to make a darning play. It starts with the line.

3rd and a couple and DA is hit by 3 KSU defenders in the backfield through the hole the play was designed to go through. Line got their ass whipped. It’s happened all year long.

The play design makes no sense. Why have a play action read draw to throw a slant? Play action draws the defense in. It sure would be nice if there was a tight end to run a streak to get behind the linebackers....

Well sure, but Cumbie has been here a while and we still do not have a tight end with none coming in - so there, and he well knows how good TT was using a tight end. We cannot recruit ONE good tight end per class, just ONE?

as an aside, Lynn left the team this week as did A. Davis, so there's that to chew on.

Agree this should be the plan. Fades and wildcat is no way to win.

If loyalty causes you a 4-8 season, then the AD makes the call.

Pretty simple. You're hoping the LB takes a false step and then you throw a slant where he should've been. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't but literally every football team on the planet runs those types of plays.

Yea that's pretty depressing.

I think we can safely say that what formation we're in is NOT the determining factor in whether or not we convert these short yardage and goal line plays. There's no formation or play that works without blocking.

Any word on why they left? Were they poached or in trouble?

Don't know the particulars but it opens up 2 more scholarships which should put us around 25 for this year - let's get busy on offensive and defensive linemen and throw in 1 good tight end, just because.
