OUCH!!!
We didn't do a good job with their traps.
As much as I luv Hailey, she is not good at handling the double teams. She let's herself get bottled up too easily. She needs to be more aggressive when the trap is coming. Don't give the help defender time to get there. Drive to the basket and make them make a play.

Seemed she and others would pin themselves up in mid-court corner or along the sidelines, creating a triple team.

She did it in the last 2 games against baylor and then at times against Louisville yesterday. She'll be so close to mid-court that nobody can come help because it'll be a back court violation.

And then when we had that run in the middle of the game, we adjusted how and where we crossed the midcourt line and gave ourselves more passing lanes and specifically that top of the key/elbow passing lane. Which then allowed both baselines to be WIDE open for cuts or open looks.

the second we would allow the dribbler to drift to those coffin corners around midcourt is when Louisville would force bad passes and get TOs.

Still work to do, but I like how quickly Sedona came out to the top of the key yesterday in response to traps. Throwing it high isn't the first option, but it's an option.

HVL has learned to buy space without picking up her dribble, but that window closes quickly and her height limits the available passing lanes.

It's good when you're down to nitpicking. With that said, anything you can do to get closer to perfection will be an advantage in the next rounds.
I don't think it's nitpicking at all. We had an 18 point lead to start the 4th quarter and they had it down to single digits with under 3 minutes to go. Turnovers and bad fouls were part of the reason why they got back in the game. Thankfully #30 finally ran out of gas at the end and we were able to close things out.

Maybe the wrong term.

But when the "problem" is as you describe and the 18 point lead drops to single digits before finishing at 15, that's a good problem to have.
