Saw him at tonight’s game and have seen him attending other TCU games this season...wish whatever differences he has with the coaching staff could be put behind...He and Sonny....two great minds together..
I could be completely wrong about this but I seem to remember that the whole Meacham/Cumbie “air raid” deal was pretty much based on the.athletic ability of Treyvon Boykin and not some genius offensive scheme Do we need a new OC? Yes. But if Doug Meachem is the answer we shouldn’t even be asking the questionMeachum seems like a good guy and he’s passionate about air raid. I know he does lots of clinics teaching the system.
Want to know who isn’t passionate about the air raid...most everyone but Leach and Meachum..Most importantly GP isn’t a fan. Before people start talking about Riley being an Air Raid guy let me remind you he runs the ball more than anyone in the B12. The game has largely evolved beyond that system and I for one hope we never see again around here.

Too much credit given to just Boykin. Without Doctson, Boykin wasn't near the QB everyone thought he was.
You people that think the entire offense was just Boykin heaving bad passes to Doctson in 14 and 15 need to go back and watch those games. Your memory is much different than reality.
I don’t want to run the system or bring back Meacham. I just find this narrative tiresome. We mixed it up pretty well in 14 but less so in 15..We put up huge numbers in 15 but leaned really hard on Doctson and Boykin panic scrambles. Ran the ball surprisingly well both years. Having said that, there is a reason nobody outside of Leach runs that system any longer.
Doctson was really good in 14 but he wasn't GREAT yet, at least not consistently. He also missed a little time with injury that year and had a couple other games where he was playing with injury and didn't do much. You people that think the entire offense was just Boykin heaving bad passes to Doctson in 14 and 15 need to go back and watch those games. I think it's weird that people say that the offensive coordinator from our 2 best offensive years ever is not the answer. I doubt there would be a situation he would come back, but some of these takes are bizarre.
Our offense in 2016 sucked. Badly.
2016 OU team had a much worse defense than this year’s team does. Not as bad as it does now. The 2016 team put up 46 points an 510 yards on OU.
Yeah, anyone could scheme their way to victory with those two. And let's be honest, how many times in 2015 did we win games with Tre just running around until Doctson got open, then heaving it to him?
