Lupton renovation

Row d just as you come up the portal down the 1B line. Love our seats. ONLY grinch is being that close to the visitor ticket allotment it makes for some tensions now and then if they get stupid or offended if we tell them to get out of our seats and back into the sun.
Do you have basketball season tickets?

We are at the very top of the section. I love it because we are never in the sun. There's a little catwalk behind us. When our kids were younger we would stick them back there with a blanket and let them hang out with toys and snacks. This photo I think is from 8 years ago.

Yep. When it’s a wet game we will try and slide up there somewhere. Our row is RIGHT at the roof line. So kinda protected from rain, but also kinda directly in the drip line off the roof. Same w the sunshine.

If they just tore out the existing seats and rebuilt a larger Lupton there, I would be fine with it. I don't want to lose my seats either, but the stadium does need to be rebuilt. Just make sure there are plenty of restrooms, and the awning covers all of the seats. During games on Sunday that start at 1, the lower bowl is like being in a microwave oven.
Yes, yes and yes. Bathrooms with 2 doors!!!!

As a season ticket holder, I would like to have first crack. Particularly to get two more. My wife and I have had our two since 2011 - before we had kids.

And there's been a wait list for so long, I've never had the chance to add two. I typically have to just buy two GAs the day of the game for them. Fortunately for me (not for others wanting season tix) the two next two me are rarely filled.
TCU has always had the 4 to my left in section 204!

Lower bowl seats humble brag.

Lupton is a fantastic college ballpark, and it's held more memorable games than most it's age. The memories were made on the field by the players, coaches and opponents.

But, the fans count too. So, the facility that houses the fans deserves better. TCU baseball fans deserve better than the dressed up bleachers of the current stadium. Wish I had a bundle of money to make it happen. Ok

Outfield seats would be great.
Keep those GA and seat the students out there. Moving the students out there would free up three sections in the upper deck for season tickets.
Also build down the first baseline.

Students in the outfield is a great idea because you could make it like Ole Miss where the students have their own area to tailgate and party.

The second stringers need those things too…
A case we made abundantly clear in Arkansas.

Wish it was more of a hitters park. Maybe put home on the southwest corner. But I believe there is a lot of underground infrastructure.

Serious question, other than the lack of seating along the first-base line and the outfield, what's so bad about Lupton? I catch a lot of games every season, and I've never thought the place was terrible. I can see expanding the seating, but a rebuild???
I mostly agree with this, but the restroom situation is beyond woefully inadequate and you can't realistically improve that without redoing the ground level infrastructure of the main stand behind home plate and the infield base lines. I'm pretty sure that's the singular reason a total rebuild is required. The concessions situation is also subpar, but only becomes a problem when the house is packed. That should still be redone, though.

If we're going to have to rebuild everything I'd be open to the idea of rotating the stadium counter-clockwise a little so home could face campus and downtown. I remember someone posting that idea in a similar thread years ago and liked the idea. But leaving it oriented the same way works for me too. Whatever we do, we need to clean up the ivy and the bushes in the outfield. Snowmageddon killed most of it and we've never done much to restore it. I always thought it was a great look.

Personally, I love the aluminum bleachers b/c they're loud as hell in a packed post-season atmosphere. I also love the berm in right field. Whoever said that should be the student section is mostly right, IMO. Keep it a berm and make it a massive party patio for the students, but keep some of it for GA as well. It's one of my favorite places to ever watch sports. We have reserved seats now b/c one of the 3 kids always needed to go to the bathroom or get something to eat/drink and making that walk 5+ times a game caused me to miss multiple innings every game, but I think that space should be preserved for some GA folks to appreciate also.

I think we need to extend seating down the first base line and maybe even into the party patio on the 3rd base line also. When we have a packed house for a regional it would be great to be able to cram more fans in the stadium with seating. There is also a very long waiting list for reserved seats that hardly ever turns over so we could definitely support more reserved seats from a season ticket holder standpoint. We've had 4-5 tickets for football, basketball, and baseball for a long time and it took forever to move into reserved seats from the berm. That's a much different situation than we were in with AGC where we built more seats than we could sell in season tix.

- Bathrooms suck and not enough during crowded games leading to long wait times
- Small/narrow concourse
- Metal bleaches suck
- No suites/club
- Press box is like trying to fit inside a tic-tac bottle
- Dugout is on the wrong side and directly in the sun at all times
- Orientation of the park is such where the wind is directly in your face the majority of the time
- Lawn seats down first base are insanely far from the field and you can’t see the batters box

Just to name a few…

I love Lupton and the memories made there, but it’s a JUCO level stadium compared to the rest of the top programs in the country.
