You need to figure out your priorities in life.

and if I were you I'd de-friend this guy on facebook and skip the wedding.

"....and skip the wedding."

I'll drink to that!!!!

No home football games in November. What planet did this guy come from?

Memo to all, tell your "friends" to QUIT planning weddings in the fall!

Whatever happened to June Brides? There is a reason why so many weddings are held in June. Right, there's no football. You single people out there, THINK. When you pop the question, say "will you marry me between Feb. 1 and Aug. 15?"

You better start watching out for June weddings. When is the College World Series?

Neither.

Go with Option C which is any combination of the below that you think will work:

--Elope
--Tell her the stick turned blue & you HAVE to elope
--Tell her you think you're gay & about to leave for Amsterdamn. Unless she agrees to elope TONIGHT

Guys, the connection I have to this wedding is that the bride is one of my wife's best friends. If I was close to the groom I would've told him to reschedule. However, women don't know the meaning of reschedule. And since I missed the last friend's wedding because of a TCU game I couldn't get out of this one.

Don't get me wrong, I gave the bride a whole big piece of my mind. But, I couldn't just drop the whole hammer on her.

Zammers - you are greatly failing to live up to the expectations your avatar. See above.

This topic or type of thread is no longer funny, hilarious, entertaining, etc.

I'M DEAD SERIOUS!!! I cannot believe people. Some will say, "Dude, it's marrage, you have to put up with some stuff, learn to deal with it".

NO, this is crap. I know all of my friends love to tailgate and all of my really close friends(each one IN THE WEDDING) look forward to TCU football season for 8 months. So guess what, you wait those long 8 months, and... "Guys, I'm getting married, please be in my wedding, ruin one of your best 6 weekends of the year. Better yet, ruin the best home game of the year(Utah)." If you do this, what will you get in return?? Your true friends will be calling you a P-word behind your back for the entire weekend, guaranteed.

I got married in June, because I have a pair, and because I care about my friends. But have been invited to/involved in many of these assanine fall weddings. It is getting to be ridiculous. Just say, "honey, I love you, but my friends would appreciate a wedding that isn't during Sept-Nov." If you are a huge P, than say, "baby, wouldn't a spring wedding be beautiful?" Use the Castanza outlook, "The first day of Spring!!"

If the guy really followed TCU football, he would have felt safe scheduling his wedding during the week of the Utah game, because it was ALWAYS on Thursday night and a Saturday wedding that week would normally have been fine.

My daughter got married the week of the last Utah home game. I was living in Denver, the wedding was in Fort Worth and it gave me an opportunity to come to Fort Worth for a Thursday night Utah game and a Saturday wedding.

Of course, when the wedding date was set, I had no idea whether there would be a Saturday home game or not. A spring wedding earlier that year was the first choice but her brother was in Iraq so the wedding got moved to the fall so that he would be home for it.

I'm getting married this Saturday at Robert Carr. The future Mrs. Frog45 knew better than to try and suggest a Fall wedding.

Hire a real good looking escort for your wife. There's lots of them in NOLA. Then go to the game.

It's moments like this that make me thankful for my wife, who stated, "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.", arranged for the wedding in July, is now a huge TCU football fan, and considers all brides idiots for scheduling weddings during football season.

Suggest that the wedding take place in the lovely confines of ACS...talk about a great wedding reception...the bride and groom can have their first dance at halftime...

Zammers, just grow a set and send your wife sans you. You'll catch a bit of scat but she'll get over it in time. It will also serve to send a lasting message.

If a friend of mine schedules a wedding on the same day of a TCU game, I usually just sleep with the bride. That tends to solve the problem.

Utah at TCU is a guaranteed Utah win because the game is on Steel's Birthday!

I do feel for you on this one. I think all weddings in the summer and fall should be on Wednesday night as they always screw up something. The way you expressed yourself to them calls for a very, very nice wedding gift and then go to the game. They will not miss you that much unless your in the wedding party and if thats the case, you're just screwed so drink a lot and fake a big smile....

I'm in the same situation....the wife and I will be in CA for a wedding that same weekend. I seriously don't wanna miss the game, but it's one of my best friends. Still can't believe he (TCU alum) chose the weekend of the Utah game.

more likely he set his wedding date before the fall football schedule was released. he just assumed the Utah game would be on a Thursday nite.
