Houston stadium and atmosphere sucked

Erector set stadium. I thought it was new. Looked old. Easy in and out so a plus there.

Stadium half full. I thought they were excited about the first Big 12 game. I guess Rice took some starch out of that. (see what I did there?)

Funny they showed a UH fan on the video board who held up his phone to the camera that read FIRE DANA.

Meh. Good win for the Frogs. Will take it.

I've always believed this was the worst addition to the conference and that it would be soon regretted. Wasn't there but what I saw on TV served to confirm that they are not ready for prime time. I'm not sure there were any other great options but to have that many empty seats for their first Big 12 game speaks volumes about the interest in that program.
I agree but it helps our recruiting in Houston to get a semi-annual visit to play Cougar High. And they are way behind the rest of us. They remind of our 4-8 teams when we joined - few playmakers on the DL and an OL that cannot get any push up front.

I am curious to see if Dana makes it to year 2.

I completely agree with Top on the gameday experience.

If that had been a capacity crowd, it would have taken the entire first half to buy a hot dog.

There was absolutely no signage to tell you where to park or how to get out of the area.

UH wanted to be in a big boy conference, so it’s time to upgrade a few things.

Go Frogs!

I thought it was so easy to park and exit. The fans were nice. Definitely not a “TCU Crowd” but still a good environment. I didn’t have a problem with concessions. We got food and drinks before the game and then drinks during halftime and it wasn’t a problem. Although, I did hear they ran out of certain food at certain concessions. Apparently the the business going down in the bathroom was a little sketchy.

I don’t think they got into the B12 because of football. I’d venture to guess their basketball games are pretty packed and loud.

My dad went to UH and was with us last night, said exactly what’s being said on here. Embarrassing crowd for the B12 opener.

Stadium was not bad at all but crowd was disappointing. Our side was very respectable. Home side sparse. Mud all over the place walking in, porta potties outside. They handled the commercial breaks better than us. No blaring rap music, just some fan participation with passing and kicking contests. It's OK to be able to talk with folks around you during the breaks. IMO.

The crowd wasnt that bad. It was probably 80% full at peak, with mostly the homeside upperdeck being sparsely populated.

It thinned out immediatepy after they started booing the offensive coordinator for running into brick walls in the third. The student section checked out at that point.

Amon Carter wasn't any better off on fans during the butt whippings we took towards the end of Patterson's era. Coog fans have checked out on Dana. I get it. They gave thier fans few chances to cheer yesterday. The Frogs strangled them sloppily for a half, and as they weakened in the second half, we finished it efficiently while whispering softly in thier ear.

For reference, I liked TDECU much better than Arkansas's stadium. Fayetteville's campus is in a better setting, but that stadium is poorly configured up there. TDECU at least has modern concourse and seating design. Best I could tell, not a bad sightline in the place. The lack of a level 3 concourse will hurt when it's a sellout, but the main level only concessions and restrooms was fine at ~80% capacity.

Affirmed in part, denied in part.

I found the fans gracious.

David Klinger was introduced to by my friends.
incredible guy.

yep, the stadium is not AGCS, but few stadiums are as good as the Carter.

Their club seats made no sense. Any possible view is blocked by people transitioning in front of the club windows.

Scoreboards are out dated.

water was $2 and they did not run out.

Humidity sux.

Overall I put the stadium on par with DKR in Austn with the exception of size and score board.

Fans seemed grateful to be in the Big 12.

I think the addition of Houston will be a positive.
