Gameday Thread, Baylor Hate Edition: TCU at Baylor

Williams and Bech are great players. Too bad we don't have an o-line that can create a run game or a d-line that can stop the run game. Any yards we gain on the ground are trick plays with Williams. This loss is 100% on the D. Okie State is going to come to the Carter in a foul mood. Unfortunately they can run the ball too.

Difference is, we didn't sit in a zone the whole game letting them pass and run at will. Avalos made an adjustment once, but then went back to soft Gillespie defense for the rest of the game. It's like they'd rather lose slow and get tired for later. Take a freaking chance on winning the game!

And we were playing that many experts said was the best team in the country at the time in Pasadena…not a really mediocre team on Waco

Who were the two main recruiters that came over with Dykes? I can’t remember their names, Washington (?) and one other….they came over with Dykes the first season and one then went to the LA Rams I think and another elsewhere.

They were amazing recruiters by all accounts. And since they left, our talent evaluation and talent in general seems tremendously lacking. Kinda wonder if they made Dykes at SMU…?

I got to be on a practice field when Gary was HC. Holy [ Finebaum ] it was intense. I’m guessing Sonny’s practices down have players getting grilled that much.

Yeah, the soft coverage is infuriating. We don’t defend 1st down for squat.

No, don’t believe so other than maybe 3-4. They both left right after the NC so most of these are straight up Sonny’s or whomever else does the recruiting these days.

Dykes punting on 4th and 2, knowing damn well they couldnt stop the Baylor offense should be grounds for firing. Somehow Aranda found his balls on a 4th and long and Dykes is just there with his thumb up his ass. So glad I made the decision to not pay for these games anymore.

Came to Waco tonight. Expected a victory. Defense didn't show up. Our D line and O line are horrible. Sonny Dykes is incompetent. After the game he says he thinks Baylor out coached TCU down the stretch. Really? No isht Coach. Your team lost because defense can't tackle, your opponent runs the same running play over and over and you make no adjustments. Your Linebackers suck. And you act like you have no idea why you lose? Someone at TCU needs to start asking some tough questions. This is BS. TCU deserves better. All momentum from national championship was gone early in 2023.
