Yeah, we really do. I'd take our WR corps over any other in the B12, and they must certainly be top 10 nationally. Just looking at those dudes play, we are blessed at that position.
QB: Who the scheiss knows? I *think* Hoover is really good, but incredibly poorly coached by [ Baylor accusations ] Jr. I sincerely hope this doesn't play out, but I could absolutely see him going to a program with a legit QB coach and becoming an NFL prospect/player.
RB: We FINALLY saw something out of Cam Cook- more aggressive and fired up than any other game this year. Too bad it took the prospect of losing his job to motivate him- But the talent is there.
OL- Horrendous. They finally got exposed. Enough said.
DL- 8-ply soft. IDK what the hell is going on there, but I don't think you can say there aren't some talented dudes in the bunch.
LBs: I actually like them: Big scheissers who can run reasonably well and will hit someone when they have a chance
DBs: I think, very talented. Bad defensive play calling, bad scheme, trying too hard to do run support. . . IDK, but there are some really talented guys there.
That's all I've got, not looking for a scrum just wanted to respond to the original thesis.
Jedd Fisch inherited a UW program that had lost almost everyone. He loaded up on transfers and look how they're playing. This roster has talent. There are coaches who would do real damage in the Big XII with TCU's players.

Does Matt Campbell have a better roster? I don't think so.

I wanted Napier, but he has had more than his share of struggles at Florida. Although he now has consecutive wins and a feeling they have turned a corner.

I won't be driving down to Cincinnati at Thanksgiving. It's gut wrenching to think of TCU football playing a conference game four hours drive from me and not going but what's the point? I would need to get a hotel room at least one night, buy food, drinks and tickets. Groceries cost more every week and every dollar of pay buys less. Why spend money and time watching a team so abysmally coached?

Depressing.

Bottom line. Sonny got to go. His track record shows it. His current track record shows it and the product on the field is THE WORST team we have ever seen. Our players deserve better.
It may be the worst TCU team you’ve ever seen, but many of us have seen 20 or so that were much worse.
Calm down and see what develops; then TCU may be prepared to make a $30m+ decision and start all over again.

Completely confused as to why…..he has always done well, as well as guys like PJ Fleck who seems to have peaked where he is. Nick Saban was a very average coach when LSU hired him from MSU. Players must have something to do with it!

I believe you are inflating the value of this roster, outside of the WR room, there are no candidates for even an All-B12 Honorable Mention.
There is no way TCU could ever hope to recruit on Wisconsin’s level with their 24th ranked (7th in B10) $389m NIL. By comparison, TCU’s NIL is less than 1/3 of Wisconsin‘s and is nowhere near the top 50.
We will never be able to consistently win in recruiting against these larger name brand schools.
Those days ended last year.
Even among B12 NILs, TCU is nowhere close to even being in the top half of the conference:
OSU $670m, KU $459m, TT $396m, WV $354m, Az. $346m, KSU $324m, ASU $265m, ISU $250m

If TCU doesn’t quickly step up to level the playing field, it doesn’t matter who the coach is, we will continue to lose ground every year.

Just curious where you get these nil numbers from? Is this total nil assets, annual budget? Maybe you’re looking at athletic program total sales, which is very different from nil. But probably a good indicator. I thought most schools nil budget was $2-$20 million.

Where do find NIL data? Are there any requirements to report anything about it?

Our NIL is not breathtaking. Probably by design. I think this is a temporary situation until they work out paying the players from TV money. Why throw millions at HS kids and transfers?

The programs that are willing to sign up for the $25million payroll are the ones that will break away and form the super league. I estimate about half the P4 teams will commit to it.

College football is in this twilight zone between amateurs getting paid under the table and a full on pro league.

The answer is not to keep heading back that way. But it should not have come to this. Dykes record was known.

It’s already a pro league.

I get that, but this is different than those times. We are on a time clock for getting into what will likely be a super conference and SMU is trending. If we hold on and doom this team to a long rebuilding campaign then we may be left out and it will become bad business to invest in a team not playing in that top tier. So yes, we have seen worse, but this is a timing thing that could cost the school billions. That is my point.
