Tell me when you’ve coached ball
My thing is, coming out of halftime it was fairly obvious what CU was going to do on offense ( throw, because they couldn't run it) and what TCU could do, which was run the football to open up the rest of their offense. TCU averaged 7 yds a carry today, but threw 2 INT's down in the red zone.

Not knowing what Colorado was going to do is maybe excusable for a half, if that, but TCU lost today because they refused to keep the ball on the ground. Especially once they knew their defense was having problems.

If it was one game, it would be one thing but today was the third straight game that the defense has given up at least 45 points and the 2d straight game where they looked completely unprepared to play. College defenses are very multiple these days and staying in the 3-3-5 almost exclusively with no pass rush appears to have caught up to the DC.

i thought it looked like TCU was the team that had never played a game together not the other way around.
Last year very little pressure on the qb and pass in the flat were the 2 areas that we need to improve upon. Didn't happen in game 1.
Morris looked goed on intermediate range passes and over the middle. the 2 ints - one was a terrible read and pass the other was a great play by Hunter but the pass was thrown late..

could've, would've, should've

let's hope last year was not only lightning in a bottle.

go frogs beat the rest

Our last 12 games.

45 vs Colorado
65 vs Georgia
45 vs Michigan after getting up big
31 vs Kansas State
Game vs a point shaver
28 vs a bad Baylor team
10 vs Texas (Geez how bad is Ewers) - to be fair this was probably his best game as DC
24 vs Tech (ok)
31 vs a horrendous WV
28 vs Kansas State
40 vs a very poor Oklahoma State team
31 vs Kansas

This is not good at all. What a saw us doing today doesn’t have a prayer for success for a number of reasons. I was willing to give him a pass in 2022 but he had a whole off season to address deficiencies. What I saw today total absolute garbage defense.

Remember when we said GP's downfall was when he never stepped into the offensive coaches' gameplanning sessions even after it went sideways again and again? Sonny is gonna have to do that with JG or else we are doomed - not just now, but in the future.

He is known for being a laidback dude whose calm demeanor is the key to his success. But he needs to light a fire under his DC, the other assistants and the players. Our D looked like they were asleep at the start of the game and never woke up. Is it the scheme or the guys or both? If JG can't figure it out, how long do you stick with him? And then, who do you replace him with?

I think an AI program like ChatGTP would be better at this point.

17 points left on the field with a missed field goal and two red zone interceptions. But the team scored 42 points. Production was there on the offense. Defense let this team down today. Our secondary is trash. Their receivers got every 50/50 ball. And what the hell happened to tackling? No one on the frogs defense, except for the Hodges, knew how to tackle.

Do you know how hard it is to prepare for a team that you don’t have an identity for? It’s freaking impossible. And if Colorado has enough ammo to go all game to keep you guessing, you won’t look good. The only thing you can do as a defense is ATTEMPT to stop them. You can’t PREPARE to. Defense is much harder to play against an unknown than an offense is. All of y’all who have never coached a down of football who are providing suggestions on a man’s livelihood need to chill out

So Briles had never coached a down for TCU and they seemed more than ready for us….

But I guess your excuse only works one way…because the offense we saw today was 95% what their OC ran in his last job just like ours was Briles SOP

There's definitely some truth to this. But man what happened out there today was so freaking bad there's no way you can let the coaches totally off the hook for this one.

Now that said, I'm also not of the opinion that JG needs to immediately be fired. He's sitting on a pretty hot seat right now though.

Agreed. It is one thing to not have film on your opponent and therefore have a challenge planning for what they do. It is quite another to know your opponent has game film on you, and not add some wrinkles. It seems we did nothing but run our base D as a gift for them the majority of the game.

Team looked extremely unprepared.
