Why are you asking me about Bass Hall? That wasn't the question.
Why are you asking me about Bass Hall? That wasn't the question.
In the end, TCU athletics is entertainment, so I was curious as to what the cost of other cultural entertainment costs in DFW and whether the cost difference was justifiable given the "worth" of the event. I just used Bass Hall as an example...as opposed to another sporting teams. Are the new ticket prices so out of line from other forms of entertainment? Why are you asking me about Bass Hall?
Maybe not for people that can afford country club memberships and S-Class payments. Are the new ticket prices so out of line from other forms of entertainment?
My wife and two other couples make it out to dinner once a month. We could easily drop $100-$150 per person for dinner, but that is our only entertainment. If I lived in Fort Worth and was able to go to 6 home games a year, would it have an impact on my dinner budget? Absolutely. It is more about whether going to TCU games are a priority or not, not necessarily the cost.Maybe not for people that can afford country club memberships and S-Class payments.
For the rest of us, yes it's out of line. $150 / person + parking + concessions for 6-8 weeks in a 3 month period is out of line relative with any other form of entertainment I enjoy.
$150 per person for dinner every month? Tell me, is Del Frisco's still good as when I was down there? And even then, that's once a month. TCU is asking you to do it two or three times a month. My wife and two other couples make it out to dinner once a month. FWIW, after I graduated TCU in the 90's I had football and men's basketball season tickets, and I wasn't really making bank back then. I get that it way more expensive now (as percentage of earnings), but it was my entertainment back then.
Of course we have people on this board that think that TCU-Utah is not a compelling match-up. Sure beats TCU-UTEP.
I am in Chicago, a couple of cocktails and appetizer and an entrée...$100+ easy per person.$150 per person for dinner every month? Tell me, is Del Frisco's still good as when I was down there? And even then, that's once a month. TCU is asking you to do it two or three times a month.
Up until this year, TCU season tickets were a pretty good value, somewhere around $60-80 a ticket, and that included a game against UT or OU plus Texas Tech and / or SMU. I think people could justify that.
Now they are charging double that for a less compelling schedule, so back to your original question: Yes, the new prices starting this year are out of line.
I guess what is worth it to me isn’t worth it to somebody else. Without major league football TCU is Abilene Christian. As I said earlier they will be heavily discounting single gameIn the end, TCU athletics is entertainment, so I was curious as to what the cost of other cultural entertainment costs in DFW and whether the cost difference was justifiable given the "worth" of the event. And I thought my prices were bad.I am in Chicago, a couple of cocktails and appetizer and an entrée...$100+ easy per person.
From what people were saying on what they were raised to, I am sure they are thin.Sounds like renewals are not going well…the number of reminder emails has been frequent
You don’t think 8-4 with a New Mexico bowl win is a huge accomplishment for a coach who makes over 6mm a year? From what people were saying on what they were raised to, I am sure they are thin.
Did they think it was a good idea with what many of us knowing this was a hollow 8-4 season.
They sent you a separate email saying you have to move? Or buy the 3rd seat?I really don't want to dump my two season tickets because I like who I sit near but TCU won't let me keep one of my season tickets because it will leave a single seat. So even if I toss those seats back and try to get a single ticket I can't get one of my old seats because of the leaving an empty seat BS. I'm pretty much screwed if I try to get a single seat in my current section. TCU just has little compassion for a longtime season ticket holder.
What is the deadline for renewal?

You’re a Debbie downer!!
I called and asked last year and was told I couldn't leave a seat open. I understand it but I wish they could show a little love to a long time (25 plus years) season ticket holder. They sent you a separate email saying you have to move? Or buy the 3rd seat?
You eat too much! And I thought my prices were bad.
