Dear Horned Frogs,

We had a terrific close to our football season with wins in our last four games and six of the final seven, capped by an impressive performance in the Isleta New Mexico Bowl. We reached nine victories for the second time in the last three seasons. Led by returning record-setting quarterback Josh Hoover, we enter the 2025 campaign and the opener at North Carolina with a lot of momentum.

Pending finalization of the House v. NCAA class action lawsuit, revenue sharing with student-athletes is scheduled to begin this summer. TCU will participate at the maximum level, enabling us to recruit and retain the top talent needed to put us in position to win championships. This commitment to compete at the highest level nationally mirrors Athletics being one of the four pillars in TCU’s Strategic Plan: LEAD ON: Values in Action.

In conjunction with this new model of collegiate athletics, staying competitive with our peers in revenue streams, meeting your demand for more home games and giving our team the best chance to contend for a Big 12 Conference Championship and return to the College Football Playoff, we made needed adjustments in our football scheduling. This fall will be our final season with just six home games. Moving forward, we will have a minimum of seven home dates each year. In fact, there will be eight games in Amon G. Carter Stadium in 2026.

This year’s finalized schedule with dates will be announced shortly by the Big 12 Conference. Per the previously released Big 12 scheduling matrix, our home conference games are Baylor, Cincinnati, Colorado and Iowa State. We also host Abilene Christian and SMU. As we plan for the future and distribute your season ticket renewal next week, you may notice a price increase in your section for this upcoming football season. The above factors were taken into consideration, along with market research that how we compared to fellow Big 12 Conference members and the DFW sports market in pricing. This was further evident in the demand for our tickets on the secondary market. These strategic data-driven decisions were made to keep us on a level playing field with our peer institutions.

Once you receive the renewal information for 2025, please feel free to contact our Parrish Family Athletics Ticket Office at [email protected] or 817.257.FROG (3764) for more information or to have any questions answered. Our goal is to keep Amon G. Carter Stadium in purple, at capacity for every game and provide the best home-field advantage possible for our student-athletes.

Thank you again for your continued support! It is more valued than ever. Go Frogs!

Sincerely,

TCU Athletics

This decision likely made before new AD is getting here

This is one of the primary reasons I believe the former AD left, the significant challenges of TCU funding NiL revenue sharing with players each year relative to many public school alumni and donor bases.

I do expect TCU to pair down number of sports offered to cut expenses, go to 10 total sports with major men’s ones and then more on women’s to meet requirements.

So $30M / 45K seats is $650 ish per seat if they were to try to fund whole thing through football season tickets. Would expect they will do same thing with other sports with next renewals.

The Big12 may have to change its rules. There is a minimum number of Big12 Sports a school must participate at a varsity level (12? 13??) in order to maintain conference membership. It's one of the reasons BY has gotten pushback over giving a school like Gonzaga a 1 sport exemption membership, especially in a revenue sport.

Interesting to do the math on just football…Tennessee announced their price increase and it was 10-20% based on your seats.

For TCU, given the results…I don’t think people will tolerate more than $200/seat for the better seats..

Despite the spin, the last two years have not gone well.

I wasn't trying to make a statement but I didn't drive up there once last year.

You had to try really hard to blow that UCF game.

They didn’t even send a pre-emptive email when they took some seats up 50% two years ago.

Being a strategic pillar, use some of the Endowment.

Second season with at least 9 wins in last seven seasons.
