2024 Football Regular Season Predictions

7-5 Qb play is inconsistent due to lack of experience and injuries. RB play is the worst we’ve had in a long time. Our defense keeps us in many games, but we are extremely frustrated by offensive output this year and lament over the games we could have won.

I hear ya. The games should still be fun, and they haven't yet cut TCU/the Big 12 out entirely. There's still a change that the expanded playoff and direct payment to players make the sport more competitive rather than restrict real competition to a few elite programs, but's its not looking good. Chances that a lot of fans like us will be getting off the college football bus en mass grow by the year.

They don't like the fans they have. In fact, they hate us.

Given your thoughts on QB/RB, I’m surprised you predict 7-5.
Assuming Hoover is healthy for most games, just in terms of maturity and fewer turnovers, the QB play should be improved from ‘23.
Last year was the worst RB play we’ve had since 2013. 154 ypg, with nearly all of it between the 20s, is just terrible. We can definitely be better this year.

…And the defense should be greatly improved. (Knock on wood)

As bad as we were last year, we lost 3 games by a field goal.
There should be no excuse this year for not winning at least 7.

The dismantling of the college game coupled with the lackluster performance last year has made me as disconnected as I've ever been with TCU football. I guess I need to read up and see what is going on.

Get off your apathetic butt--post the damn prediction spreadsheet.

There's a tradition to uphold...and KF.c bragging rights at stake.

People complaining about RB play…Bad rushing yards is typically based on bad OL. Improved OL and a diverse defense that is better than McLean middle school playcalling…should be vastly improved. WR room very impressive. If JoJo’s confidence is back, look out…four very solid 6’3”+ WRs (Williams, McAllister, James, Wright). Earle and Richardson are top notch slot guys. Good TEs too. Wish we had a mobile QB, but not sure we’ve seen a Freshman QB pass that well before.

Avalos takes the pressure off of Hoover and Briles to open the door for a few upsets. Talent is still here.

I’m going to believe that Sonny is a (1) competent coach and that (2) our recruiting has been as good as rankings suggest. If these reasonable assumptions are correct and we do our typical bounceback that we’re accustomed to, we go 10-2 or better. If either of those assumptions are incorrect, we do some varying degree of worse.
