What I heard was James people came to TCU before he entered the portal and said Miami had offered $X and wanted to know if TCU would match it which they did. Then Brock took it back to Miami and got more. He then came back to TCU and wanted more. He was then told he and his 2 brothers (one a grad asst and one injured for 2 years on scholarship) should all get out of the building asap. If true good on Sonny.
Yeah, that's a tough but early lesson to learn regarding negotiations.
This feels like what 'Ol Miss did with Zach Evans. Better to be loyal and take the matching money with the people working with you in good faith, and then work on improving your draft potential. He'll make way more money that way in the long run...
As it is, he'll be a mercenary at the U competing against all the other mercenaries, and as soon as he slips up, he'll get benched.
