As expected Weah and Puli are left out. As much as I wish Berhalter would adjust his tactics to suit the players he's bringing in I don't expect him to change anything. I'd really like to see Gio play in a classic #10 role, for example, but Berhalter isn't going to move McKennie or Musah from their advanced midfield spaces.
Given that I think you have to put Gio on the wing. I'd put him on the left wing and Dest on the right wing and keep everyone else the same with Scally slotting in at right back for Dest.
My dream starting 11 from this roster is Gaga in goal with 3 defenders in front of him. I'd run Richards in the middle, CCV as a right CB and M-Rob as the left CB. I'd play Jedi and Dest higher almost like midfielders, but their responsibilities would remain corner flag to corner flag. Then I'd run Musah, McKennie, and Tillman in the center of the park with the freedom to roam sideline to sideline and box to box. Gio would be positioned in front of them as a #10 and Balogun as #9 in front of him.
I expect to see 4-5 different starters than the ones I listed, though, fitting into the same formation GB has run in every match except for the last couple of the 2020 Gold Cup.
ETA: I'm also intrigued by Maloney as a #6. I could be talked into a 4 man back line with Scally and Jedi wide and 3 of Richards, CCV, and M-Rob at center back with Maloney in front of them. Then Tillman would drop. The problem with this is you need Weah and Puli as wingers in this formation. Without them I would put Gio at left wing and Dest at right wing and Balogun up top. I've read encouraging things about Johnny Cardoso too in the #6 role so I'd be happy to evaluate both guys in this window. I just don't think a classic #6 is a good fit for a side short on wingers. That's why I'd tinker so much with the formation and tactics.
