The felony will be dropped. It doesn't hold as they have to prove intent and even the Police Chief stated that they didn't know if Boykin knew who he was throwing punches at. Also does look like the PO throws the first 3 punches or so.

That being said. A few things really bother me about TB's leadership. Why were basically no players with him? He just decides to do this on his own and break curfew? He is just a loaner when he parties? Makes me think of that move Draft Day.

If nobody else is out with you then you are doing something stupid period. Many stupid decisions and 0 leadership in this incident. He is ashamed of himself and should be even if the cop threw the first few punches.

You are disturbed that more players didn't violate team rules?  Whaaa?

Like Ferguson, NY, Chicago, etc. Proximate cause? In every case cops reacting to someone doing something stupid first. Had any of them been doing the right thing they'd be playing football today and in some cases parents would have their kids alive.

This looks no different than what happens on Bourbon Street every night.

Just another example that the brain isn't fully mature until after 25.
Dude, don't even equate Ferguson to this. What the cop did here was absolutely wrong. He appears to be the aggressor and escalated the whole incident. He doesn't throw a punch then cooler heads prevail and everyone walks away. Boykin is still suspended because, no doubt, this will get back to GP that he jumped but he doesn't get arrested or charged with a felony.

I just watched TCU's starting qb get choked and punched in the face and he is getting charged with felonies and slandered and suspended. I don't give a [Craig James] what anyone thinks darn this, darn Pat Obriens, darn San Antonio and darn you. No I'm not letting this go its not ok.
Ooooh, I'm darned. You sound rational. Cops have a tough enough job without some 22 year old drunk athlete charging him. This is somehow the cops fault? If he's where he's supposed to be, you wouldn't be saying immature crap on a fan site.

Burn down San Antonio! Get the marchers! I

Cops shouldn't be throwing punches. That's not debatable.

Bro, no one is saying Deuce did nothing wrong, but the police need to be held accountable for their actions as well. It escalated after the choke hold and the haymaker from Paul Blart

You're right, if Deuce had obeyed the team rules this never would have happened. Sucks to say that, but it's true. However, you can't blame him for trying to defend himself while he was getting jumped. I take his side for now until more video surfaces of Tre being the instigator.

After watching the video a few times I realized that as Tre was walking away with his group then choke hold guy walks out of the bar and up to the group.  Something happens off camera.  Then Choke hold guy starts walking back towards the bar.  Tre tries to go after him in some manner and the group is trying to hold him back and he ends up being pushed in the direction of the cops.

That is what I see anyway.

I'm glad for Tre's sake this video is out there.

So many questions.  Why didn't the bar employees simply walk outside and ask one of the bicycle cops to escort Tre out of the establishment rather than choke holding a patron and shoving him down stairs?  This isn't some biker bar out on route 180.  There are police stationed all along that area for this very thing.  Looks like some vigilante activity going on here.

How can you tell he charged the cops? I just see the crowd moving that way. I don't see any reason why he'd charge the cops. Maybe that was the direction towards his exit. I back the blue and give them the benefit if the doubt but the actions of that one cop seem completely unwarrented.

He was gone and came back, how is that?

One of those guys put Trevone in a choke hold and that's what set him off. And it appears that the first police officer landed a few punches to Trevone before he scuffled with them. I'm not condoning his actions but the video sheds some light on why he was so angry.

If that fat scheiss put me in a choke hold, I would have put him in the hospital.

If you throw in a dude, bro, hoss, ect. It tends to not sound like you are attacking someone or trying to be a Popsicle I guess, haha

That's what bouncers do, they aren't exactly academy graduates. Perhaps it wasn't warranted, but you don't get dragged out of bars by a mass of people for showing discretion and acting dignified.

Really? A guy weighing 300 lbs is waist deep into a cop car wrestling for a cops gun, evidence and depositions show witnesses lied, and it was the cops fault? If a 300 pounder comes at me and I have weapon, I use it too.

Again, if this poor innocent hadn't robbed a store, followed commands, not attacked a cop...he'd be alive.

Tre was the most famous person in that whole [Craig James] town that night and all week. He is the most famous person participating in an event bringing 35mill to the town this week. It is because of his celebrity status that he was verbally and then physically assaulted. You obviously don't understand this, but that whole town should be propping him up not tearing him down. Obviously Pat Obriens is a terribly run business that should have its liquor license taken away. Tough spot for the cop? all he had to do was continue to stand there doing nothing.  I'm just saying you're doing the easy thing and slamming Tre, and I don't care about your pollyann inappropriate accusations. I wasn't trying to sound rational I was expressing human emotion which I have because I am human. I am in NYC so the brick comment was in jest but generally speaking when I see someone I care about being attacked my human nature takes over and I defend them. Feel free to take the victim mentality stance though.
