One of the best ways to know when someone is lying is that they excessively use absolutes like "never in the history", "No Ump would ever", "no coach in the history". Why wastes everyone's time when we all know that you haven't listened to every coaches conversation in the history of baseball?

One of the best ways to know when someone is lying is when they ignore the main, valid points of someone's argument and go the straw man route.

The Ump's strike zone was clearly different based on which team was batting. After a Tech player struck out from a pitch the catcher had to put his clove in the dirt to catch, Tadlock had enough and told the Ump that ball was just outside the dirt. That's literally all he said and was ejected.

Tadlock left the field but New Mexico's stadium didn't have a club house or locker rooms for the opposing team. It was raining and 40 degrees. Tech's bus was not allowed to stay in the stadium area so Tadlock asked the security guard if he could wait in the ticket office out of the rain. They told him that he could. The Ump later found out that Tadlock was in the ticket office so they appealed to the NCAA to extend his suspension to 3 games.

Mountain West umpires decided that a Big 12 coach shouldn't be allowed to coach an important Big 12 baseball game because he stood in a ticket office to get out of the rain.

Don't buy this. Everyone knows that Tech coaches aren't smart enough to come in out of the rain

Big 12 Friday recap:

OU 2 WVU 1 (top 6, resumes today): would be big win for OU and give TCU a full three game cushion going into this afternoon

Texas 5 OSU 4 (game 1)

Texas 7 OSU 0: Texas sweeps double header to win the series. OSU has to win Sunday to keep tourney hopes alive, a sweep puts them dangerously close to last in the Big 12

BU 5 Kansas 4: Kansas probably has to win this series to remain alive for at large bid

KSU 6 Abilene Christian 5

KSU 11 ACU 1: Cats sweep to win series

Big 12 Standings

TCU (12-4)
WVU (9-6)
Tech (9-7)
Texas (9-8)
KU (8-8)
OU (6-6)
BU (7-9)
OSU (6-11)

OU wins game 2 3-1.

OT but Mrs Pharm was working with one of your former players this week. One that I mentioned in an earlier post. She was very impressed with his maturity and even more so with his academic ambition. On schedule to pick up an accelerated Masters in 18 months after losing more than a few hours in the transfer. He was complimentary of the WVU program in general but some of his comments made her think that the over-the-top antics by the CF were not only not discouraged but are being encouraged. Said that they have been trying to increase the confidence and swagger factors and the biggest critique he received there was that he wasn't more demonstrative and vocal.

Also, was highly complimentary of the TCU program and was surprised that Mrs Pharm knew as much as she did about Frog baseball. He was one of the players who were 0-13 against the Frogs. Said that TCU never hotdogged or said much of anything other than "nice hit". Said that the whole hustle thing between plays and innings was somewhat intimidating because they felt that meant that not only were they better but they were probably more serious about their business. Claimed that it felt like they were playing against a team that was in a more advance league. Maybe that's why they are encouraging confidence and swagger. Kid was very proud to have gotten a hit off of Finnegan.

Big 12 Saturday Recap: Damn the Rain

WVU 1 OU 3: game 2

Only two games that got played yesterday. OSU Texas played two friday, KSU played two friday, Baylor KU rained out

Big 12 Standings:
TCU (12-4)
WVU (10-7)
Tech (9-7)
Texas (9-8)
KU (8-8)
OU (7-7)
BU (7-9)
OSU (6-11)
KSU (4-11)

Todays schedule:

Sunday Recap: the sky is falling

OU 7 WVU 4 (10): OU wins the series

Baylor 3 KU 1: game 1

Baylor 1 KU 6: Baylor wins series

OSU Texas: cancelled, Texas wins series 2-0

KSU 14 ACU 3: Cats sweep

Standings to end April:
TCU (12-6)
Tech (11-7)
WVU (10-8)
OU (8-7)
Texas (9-8)
KU (9-9)
Baylor (8-10)
OSU (6-11)
KSU (4-11)

With two series left against Texas and OU, the frogs need to win at least 4 more conference games to have a chance at winning the regular season (sweeping once wouldn't hurt). Tech goes to WVU this weekend which hopefully finishes in a 2-1 weekend with WVU coming out on top. Texas has some good pitching so lets hope the bats come alive (though I've been waiting for that since February)

we really only have a .5 game on Tech since they hold the tie breaker, correct?

so we need to basically match their record for the last 6 in conference assuming they don't get swept by WVU
