I was at OCS at Fort Benning, but we had a weekend pass son I was able to watch both at Hooters with an FSU alum who lived across the hall from me and my Aussie roommate. Great day!

This first match is a bit of a surprise. Brazil came out flat and Croatia came out with a purpose. It's nit often you see Brazil on their heels, but they appear to be settling in a bit now.

I'd feel a lot worse for Croatia if the two legit goals he conceded weren't massive fails on his part. The ref was very very questionable (especially the flop and the no-goal penalty against Croatia later), but you really can't blame the whole things on them.

The worst thing about soccer:  the ability for the ref to ruin the game.  If I were head of FIFA, I'd put time limits on yellow and red cards, like 5 and 15 minutes.  I'd also implement instant replay. The game is already delayed excessively by flopping players trying to act their way into a penalty.
