helcap, you are right regarding turnovers. We all are focused on the OL and the need to improve there. But cutting down on TOs will be huge (yah, yah, captain obvious).

Good OLs reduce the # of TOs... just ask CP /TB/ and Eli ...

Cheers !

Me too. Hoping he does most of the coaching and is successful at it. Then Anderson moves over to a position he's more qualified to coach to once it opens and Oliver takes the spot full time.

Agree, would like to see these guys switch postion coaching assisgnments... even if Meacham could handle the inside recievers better.  It seems logical, but who are we to say a 3 year starter on 3 Bowl teams for OSU and Captain of the 1987 Bluebonnet  Bowl team who defeated WVU, is the best man for that position coaching... not to mention having 35 straight starts and earned All-Big8 honors, plus honorable mention  All-American his senior season.

Anderson... his bio only stats he did some OL coaching as a grad assistant. However, there is a glowing statement... that under his tutelage... 3 TCU recievers, in 8 seasons, were drafted into the NFL.

Cheers !

There's too many variables to even go here, IMO.

Will Patterson want to go with the QB/chance to win early over a more talented QB with better upside long term?  This question in and of itself is two part.  Do you go with one of the younger guys for the upside of next year?  Do you go with Boykin early to win games, then maybe switch out depending on the matchup/progress of Joeckel?  Do you go with Joeckel early and hope he becomes the answer with more on the field experience?
Your posts are all questions. Every. Single. One.

This isn't Jeopardy

Last 3 seasons, Joeckel has had 48 attempts.at 56.4 % effeciency under little duress.

Last 2 seasons, Boykin has had 468 attempts at.58.1 % effeciency under duress.

Cheers !

At this time of year there's more questions than certainties- but with your offense, you (and apparently Patterson doesn't either) don't even know who is going to be starting the first game.

Not to mention our defense had to face their offense, while their defense got to face our offense.

I'd like to see a defensive comparison of the two defenses against the eight "common offenses" that they faced (Texas Tech, Kansas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, West Virginia, Kansas State, Iowa State)

Since you asked:
                       TCU     BU
Completion %:  52%  47%
Pass Yards:    230     205
Rush Yards:  123      147
Total Yards:  353      352
Yards/Drive:  25.03   23.92
TO's forced/gm:  2.25   1.63

TCU had the better defense IMO due to cb play but BU wasn't all that bad.

Kindred and IIoka will be safeties. No drop off there. our LB's will be good. Texada and possibly Deante Grey at CB. And we will have holes In the D line. But somebody always steps up.

We'll have talent to replace the losses on D, but it's a question of whether the talent gels and "gets it".

Being experienced is huge.

Your defense got to rest while your offense was scoring touchdowns.  Ours got to rest while our offense was going three and out.
