I thought the wheels were coming off there last year after they lost to Alabama State. Then they made the conference championship game. Turns out the wheels were coming off after all.

I wonder what Gundy will do. He's basically impossible to remove. I doubt he'll want to go out voluntarily on an 0-9 year in conference.

He claims he is not going anywhere. My guess is he has the juice for a pay-me, throw-away year. State fans might as well settle in.

I remember when Luke Fickell was all that, certainly a much better coach than SD.

7-6 last year and in Year 2 at Wisconsin about to go 5-7, which would be the worst record there in 23 years. So he's obviously not getting it done, time to give up on him? $7.6M/year with annual $100k increases through 2031.

Who was the coach prior to him?

Yahoo Sports' Twitter account is gushing over how Hunter should be given the Heisman based on this game.
Definitely the first time in recent memory when the surefire Heisman favorite and the "best QB in the college game" played on the same team, and the team has 3 losses with zero wins over teams in the Top 25 (their best win is over Baylor #31 in the Massey, on a hail mary to go to OT).

Media hype sure does go a long way these days.
