NOV 25 STOOPS TO AGGIELAND According to multiple reports, the Texas A&M Aggies are expected to hire Kentucky's Mark Stoops as the program's new head coach.

Kentucky extended Mark Stoops contract a year ago and he is the 8th highest paid coach in the country with a contract through the 2030 season at $9 million per year plus bonuses, and according to USA Today, the current School Buyout of that contract is $51 million. Kentucky is serious about their SEC football and Mark Stoops. He is the 6th highest paid active coach now that Jimbo and Mel Tucker have been dismissed - he trails only Saban, Dabo Swinney, Kirby Smart, Ryan Day and Brian Kelly.

I assume that Aggie was willing to at least match that contract, so it appears they are willing to spend again, sheesh.

From Bruce Feldman at the Athletic...this would be the dumbest coaching move of all time. Harbaugh's time at Michigan may be short-lived, so Day may not have to worry about Michigan as much any more. But it will be glorious watching them get turned down.

There is one big wild card here looming. Texas A&M does have some interest in Ohio State’s Ryan Day, program sources tell The Athletic. Day is 56-7 as a head coach and 39-3 in the Big Ten after Saturday’s loss to Michigan. He came within a last-second field goal of beating Georgia last year in the College Football Playoff, but losing back-to-back games to arch-rival Michigan hangs heavy over Columbus. After that loss, Day might be more open to listening to A&M’s pitch.
