Tech signs softball pitcher to $1 million dollar NIL!

Considering the value of a great pitcher in softball it’s hard to compare to most other sports and/or positions. I’m not sure a single player in any other team sport has the ability to more completely shape the outcome of a season. Obviously not a huge list of programs who would value softball enough to stroke the check though. I’d have to think the clubhouse chemistry will be a little odd given the contrast between her and the rest of her teammates financially.

Although I completely agree with what you said, it’s still softball. If they got $1million in ticket sales in a decade, I’d be surprised.

Does Tech even have a Women’s Softball Team?
They actually have a really nice softball stadium. Went to a game there once (not by choice) but I was surprised at how nice it was. Softball seems to be big out there, which only furthered my confusion.

If TTJC is spending a million on one softball player, how crazy are they going to go with football and basketball?!?

That's just a million that won't be available for football. Or basketball.

I think our softball team is playing smu's baseball team this year.

Although that is head turning money now, she will have to invest a big hunk of it wisely. A Stanford Degree may be worth more in the long run than a Tech Degree. Softball probably does not pay a lot after college. Does she have 2 years of eligibility left? With the Tech contract being one year, I guess it may depend on how Tech does this year to see if there will be another at Tech. If Tech is really successful, and she seems to be the reason, a bidding war may break out for her last year of eligibility.

My post was obscure sarcasm!

I‘m sure Tech Softball is played in a nice stadium built on a former cotton field. No homes were harmed in its construction.

Given the huge list of cultural events and other choices available to the consumer in Lubbock, high attendance figures at the Lady Dead Raider‘s softball games is surprising. *SARCASM ALERT*
