If TTJC is spending a million on one softball player, how crazy are they going to go with football and basketball?!?

So, best case scenario, Tech gets better at…softball.

If Cody Campbell and John Sellers are dropping this kind of money on woman's softball I wonder what they are doing with football. They have had some recruiting/NIL results, and are probably outspending us but nothing earthshaking that I have seen. Might not be a great harbinger of things to come.

maybe they can talk Elon Musk into bankrolling their NIL.

Pretty awesome for that young woman to secure a six figure payday before she's even 21, especially in a sport not exactly known for big payouts even at the highest levels. Good for her.

I guess they want to be a softball school?
Well, they were going to be a chess school, until the entire team transferred to Webster.

When Canady entered the portal it was long anticipated she would go to OU to get herself a championship ring (considering they have won the last 4 in a row). However I think they were more in the $250K+ territory in the bidding war for her services. This is a whole new frontier in NIL for softball. Championship ring or $1M? Probably not the hardest decision. Stanford has been to the world series the last two years primarily on her arm and their ability to win very low scoring 1 run games. Tech was ranked 39th in RPI end of last year. From the bay area to Lubbock, I guess some offers are too good to refuse.
