TCU men with a less-than-satisfying finish in Palm Desert. Frogs did not contend on the last day (Tech won at -6 with a last-hole birdie to nip Boise State by a stroke) despite a 68 from Stefano Mazzoli, who finished 8th individually at -3 for the tourney, and Hayden Springer, who shot his third straight 72 to finish T10.
A pair of 79s doomed the Frogs to a 4th-place finish at +3; Kansas came from 13 shots down with the low team score of the day to beat the Frogs by a stroke.
Also, for the third straight day, the Golfstat real-time score for TCU was incorrect, with an extra stroke added to TCU's total after the round. Not sure if that was due to scoring error or a late penalty-stroke ruling, but to have it happen three straight days is frustrating, especially when it affects the order of finish.
Individually, David Ravetto and Pierre Mazier also finished in the top 20 overall in a 120-player field. Trevor Brown did not have a good tournament but finished on a high note with a final-day 67.
The 19th-ranked TCU women will be in action tomorrow at the ICON Invitational at The Woodlands. Senior Yeji Shin will get her first start of the spring. Follow progress here: http://results.golfstat.com//public/leaderboards/gsnav.cfm?pg=team&tid=16907
