Our starting QB next year is not on campus at this time.
More than anything, it points to ineffective recruiting. Is that a bad thing if you're coming off a 5-7 year in this age of college football free agency?

Some very good sources say that Sonny kind of promised Chad. And he didn't deserve to be the starter either year based on on-field performance. There were insiders that believed Hoover was the better player coming out of fall camp. Looks like they were right. We was the starter both years, if Sonny indeed made that promise to him (which I sorta doubt), it wasn't broken.
Personally I don't think there's a whole lot of difference between the two. Morris had some really good moments too. His stats are actually a bit better. Completion % and yards per attempt pretty much a wash, CM 12/5 TD/INT ratio to Hoover's 11/8.Some very good sources say that Sonny kind of promised Chad. Some people are great practice players and suck in real time and vice versa.
i had the same thoughts that week. Assumed that meant Morris wasn’t completely recovered so they just kept Hoover on the field.I personally thought Hoover would go back to the bench after the Texas Tech game. There was entirely too many off-target passes to wide-open receivers for my liking. Combined the number off INTs during the stretch of his starts, I didn't think he'd done enough to hold the starting spot. Obviously, the coaching staff sees it differently. He's been great in 2 games, awful in 1 game, and decent in 2 others. Hopefully we see great again this week.
I'm fully aboard the Hoover train after the BU win. He's emerging as a capable leader. Would be cool for Morris to play and maybe beat OU. But looks like the torch has been passed -- or taken.
Hoover has a lot (a whole lot) more upside imo.Personally I don't think there's a whole lot of difference between the two. Morris had some really good moments too. His stats are actually a bit better. Completion % and yards per attempt pretty much a wash, CM 12/5 TD/INT ratio to Hoover's 11/8.
I think the thought that there's no doubt that Hoover is better is off base, but I have no problem with them going with Hoover, because of age and lack of injuries more than anything.
Not good when QB 3 is wearing #24!Our starting QB next year is not on campus at this time.
Robert Spencer!
Agree. I agree with sticking with Hoover- he’s played well enough and shows some real promise. But I don’t agree with the idea that there is some sort of huge gap. Stats are similar and Morris adds a little bit of a rushing threat. If Hoover’s shoulder is worse than it seems and/or struggles early against OU, I think we’ll see Morris without much hesitation.Personally I don't think there's a whole lot of difference between the two. 70s the minimum for politicians these days.Crazy that Chandler is only officially a sophomore. At this rate he'll be eligible to serve in the House of Representin' before he exhausts all his eligibility.
Well, now that you mention that, Kay Granger is retiring. Hmmm.Crazy that Chandler is only officially a sophomore. At this rate he'll be eligible to serve in the House of Representin' before he exhausts all his eligibility.
