Curious to see what he thinks about all of the former ex-Baylor coaches on our football staff......

I wonder what this is about:

“And certainly what’s going to happen this summer will make NIL less important, but it will still be plenty important…”

I think this is a great hire! NIL and transfer portal are a mess, but we can find people to fix those issues. Dykes does a very good job with the portal. Right now TCU needs steady leadership that can connect with people. I think he will do a great job bringing people into the fold that felt isolated and angry. I think he will bring in others that may not have been tapped yet. Fort Worth loves sports, but it doesn’t have a pro sports team. The genius of TCU and largely Patterson was to make TCU FTW’s team. I see that as a priority.

I think he is looking at challenges as a Big 12 school especially when compared to the Big Ten and SEC. I don’t think those conferences are done expanding. I think Buddie knows it, and I see him as a guy much like CDC who can find a way to get TCU into one of those conferences.

This is steady strong leadership over new age flash. I’m excited.

Dude seems like a home run hire. Listen to his interviews and read what people who know him are saying about him.

Not sure why y'all think “NIL experience” is a thing we need. We aren’t hiring an AD to start up our brand new NIL program from scratch.

We need someone who can whip our athletic department into shape, unify the donors, raise money, and position us to be viewed in the best light imaginable for potential conference realignment. Mike seems like he will be good at all those.
