The jury is still out on Mr. Hoover, but the first performance was encouraging.

So many positives today, but we must clean this up. Can't expect to win the tough road games ahead if we can't do better in the red zone and continue to leave points on the board again. But if we can keep Hoover on his feet, then we can beat anyone.

Not sure quarterback was our only problem but it's sure looking like a big part of it right now. I don't know that there's much difference between Iowa State and BYU but there was a world of difference between TCU this week and last.

I recognize the fallacy of the transitive properties of cfb, but BYU beat Arkansas at their place, the same Arkansas that was within 3 points of Bama today. All that to say we have the potential to be pretty good when we put it together. Maybe leadership was the difference today.

That being said, Morris looked like a world beater in his debut against Baylor a few years ago.

if he were anywhere near as good as Hoover looked today or as Duggan played last year - we would not have been 3-3 before today...

The loss to Colorado was not on Morris. That was totally on the defense. The other two games he played a big role in the losses.

Agree, but that last drive was on Morris. Couldn’t hit back to back easy crossing routes.

One thing to consider is that BYU probably does not have as good of defense as WVU or ISU. With that being said, Hoover after today has earned the start for next week.

Morris did struggle at the end but offense did put up enough points to win the game.

One thing that had bothered me this season is the WR’s running bad routes / can’t get open and drop passes. They are not anywhere near as good as last year.

Seriously? I loved that Hoover wasn't mobile. He didn't have to make plays with his feet. Only a few questionable throws. Dude was exceptional in his first start.

you don't have to be as mobile when you can quickly move between progressions, hit receivers in stride and have a good internal clock
