Problems are mental, can get fixed in a hurry. We can play with anyone, problem is playing the whole game. That is where leadership on the field is most important.

According to someone who wears a whistle at OU practices the biggest play of the game Saturday was BM's first touchdown run. Said that one play convinced the OU players that they were tougher and stronger than the Frog D and that the officials were gonna let them play without fear of holding penalties or unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. (Of note, this morning on the local sports radio program, they were talking about that play and said that Flowers' take-down at the goal line was better than most of the scoring moves they see on the OU wrestling mat and couldn't believe that it didn't get flagged - also were surprised that BM didn't draw a flag so its not just Frog fans). Said Riley decided to use Perine more than he had planned because of that play and series.

Also said that they aren't worried at all about KH running the ball. They thought that either he's been coached not to run because of fear of injury, a desire to go through every progression, or is unwilling to run because he's not Boykin-like in his aggression for yardage. But whatever...they had low fear of him running which he said allowed them to bring more pressure from more positions. Also said they thought they might get as many as three picks on Saturday. (I thought that was ludicrous since they had none coming in and a beat-up defense that hadn't been getting any pressure on QBs and the weakest link at CB). He said something about "non-targeted receiver depth" on possession routes and predictable progressions. He was surprised at how many batted balls they had and how often we checked down to the safety receiver. Whatever...

I'm sure our total lack of response to that play (BM should have been made to pay for it) didn't help our cause either. They straight up punked our defense and we did nothing about it.

At some point you get a guy to earn himself s penalty to teach their player paybacks are hell. Very surprised I saw no nastiness against him
