Meh…this really doesn’t bother me. It’s just a business decision, and I think our business is fine. I think psychologically it bothers us because it’s SMU, but we have to understand the game has changed. You don’t have to earn your way to the top like we have done, now you can pay your way to the top.

As soon as we can get all that through our brains, the better. We’ll be fine, that doesn’t mean get comfy, but I think we can settle down a bit.

This is business decision and if the kid doesn’t want to be here, then it’s better that we don’t want him here either.

I'm sitting in my chair this morning, enjoying PBR...one bull, one man. I've always liked bull riding events but the last two, three years I've increasingly followed and enjoyed the sport. And during that same general time frame my enjoyment of college sports has waned...too much bull, too few grown-ups. Sadly, I don't anticipate that trend reversing any time soon.
simply....he waited until the money was right! Any reason he gives makes him look like a chump.

This smokes my tail end. Most likely everybody but tcu took this seriously or thought the stable of tcu qb's made them feel comfortable...or ...somebody thought this kid is 18 yrs old and that damn portal thing comes into play and away they go. We can't control that so we'll make another offer, be it too late. If that's how it went down, my tail is blowing white heat!! Possible tcu has a rule, make one offer and that's it. No bidding wars. Believe me, I understand that from experience. However every rule can be broken if you're planning a successful future for five years, then you reconsider the rule. WHEN do you let a QB whose future appears to be a higher talent than any in recent history pass by? I call that pretty dam dumb. You can forget any response from the staff on this one.

If SMU wants to overpay for a HS QB who won’t even see the field for another 3 years, let them. If a kid is more interested in chasing dollars than playing for a better program, let him. Give me guys like Hauss Hejny who are more concerned about playing football than $$$.

You don't pay NIL money and have him sit for three years. Good thing you don't own a business partn.
In this NIL world, not the heritage football your thinking of is off the field. If you're Alaba you can think that way, not at TCU and fill a stadium and pay salaries, rent, liability insurance and should I go on?

So he’s going to usurp Preston Stone on day one? Lmao okay then. He’s still got 3 years of eligibility.

Don’t forget SMU paid one of our backup WRs $1.5M and a suite at the W, and ended up with a whopping 450 yards last season.
