How the Savion Williams package helped turn TCU’s season around

Sometimes all it takes to turn around a season is one wrinkle that changes everything.

There are a lot of reasons for TCU’s improvement over the last five games. Fewer turnovers, more toughness against adversity, but the biggest game changer for the Horned Frogs was the introduction of the Savion Williams package in the back field.

Going back to the win over Utah, TCU has used their talented 6-foot-5 wide receiver more and more as a running back or wildcat quarterback each week. In the Horned Frogs’ Saturday 49-28 win over Arizona, Williams once again was effective with 80 yards on just nine carries.

Briles (who doesn’t belong here anyway) should have figured out long ago he had no kind of running game. To give him credit for using the incredible talent just sitting there seems like giving praise to a dog for finishing his dinner.
LOL. You are such a clown. You're always going to give him no credit and blame him for anything and everything, so whatever.

The biggest difference between Williams and the other backs is he is constantly breaking tackles, moving up field, and does amazing work to try and get the first guy to miss. Cook is fast, but he doesn't currently have the same ability and is often taken down by initial contact.
Yep. The other guys just don't cut upfield and hit the hole hard, they are always trying to run away from contact so they run sideways. Cook has improved a bit I think in that area but still needs a lot of work.

I think about that Son of Briles the way I think about gum on the bottom of my shoe — didn’t want it in the first place and now can’t seem to get rid of it.

Sorry, what he did at Baylor is unforgivable for a position of authority at TCU. If he really wants a position, he can be one of those dudes in a blue shirt at AGC on game days.

Savion saved the season! Dykes and Briles did a great job in fixing a glaring problem in the middle of the season.

I know this is controversial but I’ve always felt like Briles was a very good hire and we were lucky to get him. The fact that we got him validates how this program has grown. It really pleasantly surprised me that we would ever hire a coach away from Arkansas especially considering how this program was back in the SWC days.
