FWST: Gary Patterson exit is not amicable as fans should fear TCU without their GP

That there is no one else is emblematic of the problems that led to GPs demise. There’s no one on his staff that’s capable in the near future of becoming a head coach.

Nor a single former assistant/protege anywhere in college football that we're interested in seeing back as his successor.

No, we are not and have not been. Recruiting in the past 3-4 years have been some of the best classes ever. Sure, the program could and should have been better. But, its far form the panic point. They fired Mack Brown and look what he is doing now. They fired RC Slocum after 1 or 2 bad seasons. Heck, they fired Fred Akers after 1 or bad seasons. Now, TCU is doing the same. Once a school like TCU starts that downward slide of the coaching carousel, it can be heck getitng back to where we were. UT *still* has not reached the level they were at before they fired Mack Brown. Short-sighted moves do not lead to long-term success.

Love your passion but choose a coach from the last 20 years for reference.

This isn’t a panic point - it’s just timing. Gary had run his course. It was over. Move on.

We. Will. Be. Fine.
