Ex-TCU QB Bram Kohlhausen suffered major injuries after he fell from a helicopter

Former TCU quarterback Bram Kolhausen remains fighting for his life. According to friends of the TCU alum, Kolhausen fell from a helicopter on a hunting trip near San Antonio over the weekend.

Friends familiar with the situation estimate the fall was anywhere between 70 to 80 feet.

He suffered a variety of injuries, and remains in critical condition and in ICU at Brooke Army Medical Center, which is approximately 13 miles northeast of downtown San Antonio.

For perspective, that's almost exactly the distance that Owen Hart fell, and he was dead within minutes.

What I don't understand is, while hunting from a helicopter, why wasn't he wearing his safety harness? The false sense of invincibility of youth?

While having amputations of both lower extremities is horrific it is still better than trying to walk on crushed bones. Getting artificial limbs is tough and it takes time to get used to them but it beats paralysis from a spinal injury which I have not heard him having. Good luck Bram!
