And just like that TCU has proven that it is the best D1 baseball team in Tarrant County! Glad we didn't have to try and prove it in Game 3 of this series

Worth noting that all three hits in the 9th were opposite field knocks. We would have won this game 8-2 or more if we'd driven the ball to the opposite field instead of rolling over stuff and popping up crap.

Okay...this game finally deserved it's own thread. Took it 8.2 innings to get there though

That was a strange game to be at in person

Was like watching some combination of batting practice and the purple white game until the 9th with 2 outs where we suddenly looked like a really good ball club

And then the balk...

Weird all around

Not sure if we had great pitching because of only 2 runs or lucky pitching because of 13 hits and 11 lobs or just situational pitching or karma

But it was good to win

So for those of us that missed it, what did the mav pitcher do to earn the balk? Just curious.

Not sure if we had great pitching because of only 2 runs or lucky pitching because of 13 hits and 11 lobs or just situational pitching or karma

But it was good to win

Agreed in that it was an odd game to be at. Tense as hell & actually a well played ballgame but there were about 400 people there to start and roughly 75 of us at the end. A 0-0 game around the 4th inning and the basketball game looming there was a mass exodus around 8:10.

Those who complain about a win need to realize how valuable and important that win was. We gave up 2 runs with the same guys you’ve been bashing for a month. It would’ve been our 3rd loss in a row, going to visit the #1 team in the big 12.

An ugly win is better than a well-played loss (and IMO that wasn’t that ugly of a win; one error, decent pitching, just very untimely hitting)
