Maybe the NIL people feel the bang for the buck isn't what was expected.
Yeah, there’s no way a lot of them are getting the ROI they expected
Payments are made to the players but performance is expected of the team. I would imagine no matter how well the player does, if the team underachieves. The guy making the payments isn’t going to be real thrilled with the return. And less likely to do it the following year without some conditions in place.Yeah, there’s no way a lot of them are getting the ROI they expected
They already get thisWhen I was at TCU, I had to work for spending money. College athletes don't have time to do this. I'm all for giving all athletes a monthly allowance, say $1K. That's enough money for them to do a lot, include fly home for holidays, yet does not suggest to any athlete that they are more or less valuable than anyone else on the team.
Exactly. The scholly players in the early 2000s certainly weren't hurtin'...They already get this
I'm curious about how often this is happening. I bet a lot.
Everyone with a brain.Who saw that coming?
No such thing as a cheap IPAI’m very much a capitalist, but giving this kinda $$$ is not good for college athletics. But I’m old (I’m 50, I’m a man +10!!) and the system has passed me by. I just grab my cold cheap IPA and watch on my big screen at home anymore. As Moose said, absolutely predictable.
Are these agreements in writing?
I’m sure there is some buyers remorse and all but like….draft busts get paid too.
