Whatever dude
You just gave a bunch of history we all knew-

Given all the guys on here that live for baseball stats or make a living understanding them at least - I was just hoping someone had watched them this year or had some insight into if the about 20% higher total HRs and runs they scored this year over normal was because they had stepped up in ability or if it was because the average quality of pitching was lower given that - as you said - they did face the midweek guy from every team in their league

For example - if more than 25% of their homeruns and runs came from the #4 starter - that would seem to indicate that it was poor pitching, not better hitting.

or do the home vs away metrics show a big difference like K State or Techs numbers show this year - DBU in the past has hit almost 2/3rds of their HRs at home even though they only play slightly more than 50% of their games at home. But this year I think they played something near 40 home games of the slightly over 50 games they have played. If their normal trend of hitting a higher than average number of their HR's at home vs on the road continued - that would again say that maybe they are not really hitting HR's at a higher rate than other years - they just playing an extra 12-13 home games this year over normal years.

You gave me a "they are a blue collar, lunch pail kind of team every year and can beat you if you don't show up to play" kind of answer. Sorry to hurt your feelings but your response basically made me originally think "well no [ Finebaum ]"

On behalf of Spike, why don’t you go look it up on your phone.

Here's some stats: http://academy.socialsuitehq.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Happy-Planet-Index.csv with links to past seasons.

Quick read:
Compared to 2019 full season, this DBU team is slugging much better (.520 vs. .457) and getting on base somewhat better (.399 vs. .375)

- Glenn is the power bat -- 19 homers and slugging .738 -- MVC player of the year
- Town is their HBP specialist (12) and steals leader (20) -- kid can manufacture runs
- Bell is their eye-at-the-plate -- 38 walks against 26 SOs
- Balanced offense through the rest of the lineup--6 guys with OBP over .430

I don’t have the time in my day to go look up all the info being requested on DBU so I’ll just say this… this isn’t one of their more talented offenses. Jackson Glenn had a monster year. The rest of the lineup is pretty generic in terms of what is typical for them. That’s not a very good league and they play in a definite hitter’s park.

I'm more worried about Oregon State, but I HATE losing to DBU. It annoys me whenever teams throw out all the stops against our #4 pitcher on a Tuesday night.

I watched their championship game against Indiana State. They fell behind 5-1 early, then wound up in a tie at the end of 9. Took the lead in the 10th, then ISU tied it up. DBU plated 5 in the 11th, to win. All in all, they didn't seem to take advantage of their leads, and played a sloppy game. They walked 8, had 6 HBP, and used 7 pitchers. They do have Andy Pettitte's son as an LHP, so for us Yankee fans, that was interesting. Unfortunately for him, as the starter, he only lasted 0.1 inning, walking 2, hitting 1, allowing 2 runs, and had 1 wild pitch. If they start a leftie against us, that kind of performance would be ok.

Dallas Baptist being picked by some to be the upset winner of the Fort Worth regional. Dallas Baptist head coach Dan Heefner would be a good replacement for Schlossnagle.

So Pettitte vs. Ray could realistically have innings that last over an hour?
