I did. I’m referring to his football eligibility and experience; not his academic hours. He’s a sophomore. Technically a redshirt freshman…get it right

Nobody calls redshirt freshman as “freshman”I did. I’m referring to his football eligibility and experience; not his academic hours.
100%, 7 overthrown passes….in one half.Briles can take Hoover with him…package deal
Their teams were no where close to being this bad either. Every fan of this school deserves to know that 1 year after playing the last game of the season, there would be FAR less dropoff. Good QB play affects the tempo of the entire team. He’s a freshman.
Dalton, Boykin, and Duggan were not great in their first years either.
He's literally a freshman. That's what he is. You can obviously feel free to argue that he should be better because he's in his second year in the program (even though this is his first year in this offense and first year playing in games). That's fine. But trying to play some kind of semantics game with his classification is dumb.Nobody calls redshirt freshman as “freshman”
He has been in the system two years. He might be 20 already…
Is this you trying to say that the defense getting their asses handed to them is actually somehow Hoover's fault?Their teams were no where close to being this bad either. No a freshman is your first year on campus. He's literally a freshman. That's what he is. I'm sure you understand the difference between academic classification and football eligibility status. We're not here to debate which level of English Comp he should be registering for next semester. No a freshman is your first year on campus.
TCU calls them “first year students” now
Nope…just BrilesBriles can take Hoover with him…package deal
If he played 4 games and still redshirted would you see him as different than one that played 5 games and magically became a “sophomore”I'm sure you understand the difference between academic classification and football eligibility status. I'm not going to make excuses for Hoover's play. He's been really bad in every road game this year. He's a freshman so it's to be expected to some degree. But he just looks much more panicked and unsure on the road regardless of pressure. He's not seeing the field well and his mechanics are all over the place.Hoover is struggling, that obvious.. but he is getting mauled and is hurried… say what you want about OU’s D, but they have the qb pressure dialed in today
This explains so much; thank you.No a freshman is your first year on campus.
TCU calls them “first year students” now
But he didn't play 4 games so what the hell does that have to do with it? He didn't take a single snap.If he played 4 games and still redshirted would you see him as different than one that played 5 games and magically became a “sophomore”
Saying he is too young is flat out stupid excuse. 2nd year players from HS grad frequently start in P5 now.But he didn't play 4 games so what the hell does that have to do with it? He didn't take a single snap.
This is a really dumb argument you're attempting to make. You could just say that he needs to play better and pretty much everyone would agree. I have no idea why you think you need to make fictional points to make it seem worse than it actually is.
Dalton was awful and didn’t have anywhere near the high end potential in 07. I’m the biggest dalton homer ever tooHe’s a freshman.
Dalton, Boykin, and Duggan were not great in their first years either.
The announcers literally just called him a freshman.Nobody calls redshirt freshman as “freshman”
He has been in the system two years. He might be 20 already…
Starting to not age very wellSaying he is too young is flat out stupid excuse. 2nd year players from HS grad frequently start in P5 now.
Rocco becht ISU is the same class.
So is Malik Murphy at Texas
And Fifita at Arizona.
All got significant playing time this year for first time and are LIGHTYEARS better.
Keep going. I’m sure we’ll win this game. It’s garbage timeStarting to not age very well
He’s getting worse the more time he spends under Briles.I'm not going to make excuses for Hoover's play. He's been really bad in every road game this year. He's a freshman so it's to be expected to some degree. But he just looks much more panicked and unsure on the road regardless of pressure. If you're going to win road games with an inexperienced QB then the defense has to lead the way. He needs to play better but you can't ask Hoover to score 40 every game either.
