Yeah, that’s the other angle, and it’s plausible. Firing the guy the day after the season makes it look like you’re looking for a scapegoat.

Does anybody have any idea what Dykes has been doing the last two weeks? Probably not...

So we should just hire someone to hire someone and not try to find the right guy for the right situation?

I am confident Bax, Fontenette and the team did not know about this before today. That is not something you tell the team until it is done and ready to be announced, which was today.

TCU is parting ways with defensive coordinator Joe Gillespie, sources confirm to HFB.

Sources also confirmed to HFB that head coach Sonny Dykes was meeting with the team this afternoon to discuss the news.

Sources told HFB that defensive line coach JaMarkus McFarland, safety coach Paul Gonzales and cornerbacks coach Carlton Buckels would remain on staff.

Sonny took zero ownership of any loss this year. I doubt he even wanted to fire the guy he hired. More likely was forced

On the positive side seems like he is not content to mail it in like fisher for a buyout. I hope he is successful. He’s a nice guy and good to players.
