As little as I know about point spreads, I think they aren't based purely on team personnel or match-ups and aren't necessarily intended to be predictive of scoring differential. The bookies are also trying to even the book as much as possible so they can pay off winners and still make money. If the betting gets too lopsided one way or the other, they'll alter the line to draw more bets to the other side. Same philosophy, I think, as when they lengthen or shorten offered odds on contestants in a boxing match or a horse race. This spread really shocks me. I would have thought TCU would have been favored by 10-14 points. Makes you wonder what Vegas knows that the rest of us don't. I guess it's the result of TCU losing so many players from last years teams.
I don't bet on games, but this one sure looks tempting.
hmmmm, everyone likes tcu and the under, bet the house on baylor and the over then!
This from the same guy who was ready to mortgage the house to take Baylor + 21 last year. How did that work out for you?
Betting question:
I've wanted to start playing with a small amount of money online on sports betting. Won't be anything big (talking under $500) but figured it'd be fun. However, I know a lot of sites have cracked down on US gamblers. Where's the best place for someone like me to sign up. I won't be going crazy betting a ton or drawing the money down a lot, so I won't be concerned with how often I can withdraw. A nice signup bonus wouldn't be too bad either as long as you can use it at the sportsbook.

I bet him a handle of whiskey on the game, and won going away.
Then for the SMU game, we went double or nothing on a 17.5 point spread. TCU won by 17 and Evans missed an extra point late in the 4th
:wink:TCU and the under seems like the totally obvious play to me, but when something seems obvious to you in regards to gambling, it usually means you're wrong.
