I remember visiting my (now ex) girlfriend from college's family that weekend in Colorado. Her dad had graduated from TCU in the 70s, and we stayed up late watching the game together in their basement after the ladies had all gone to bed. I'll never forget that game, drinking Johnny Walker Black with a fellow TCU alum separated by decades, jumping up and down and high fiving like old friends when they missed that kick.
It didn't work out in the long run between his daughter and I, we lived in different cities and have lost touch in the intervening years. Unfortunately I found out through the grapevine he passed away earlier this year from cancer. He was a great man and frog fan, and I'll never forget sharing that game with him.
